Actually it rarely snows in the inland areas of Antarctica, but it's so cold all year round it never melts.

I never actually made it too far inland, the snow was pelting out of the heavens when I got there so I just got straight back onto the boat & ****ed off again.
 
I've never understood when people say "it's too cold to snow"

Is it just a kind of urban myth?
It's ****en cold in the antartic but they seem to get a fair bit of it

But if its going to be that cold then the sky will be clear hence no clouds
 
It's because of the winds - the really cold winter wind comes from the east. East winds are generally dry - wet weather comes from warmer westerly winds.
 
i had heavy snow over here in the netherlands on monday morning and yesterday morning, today its ok its sunny
 
knowing in London today, albeit really rubbish snow
