Not heard a lot of their stuff TBH but I'm gonna go out and get this album, heard lots of good stuff about them. I bought The Killers album recently due to reccomendations by people on here, and that's a crackin' album! Let's hope you make me buy another great album!

'Hot Fuss' is another great album IMO.

I'll admit - I don't get it... they just seem kind of average to me. I heard that the NME gave the album 10/10.... :icon_roll

I'm not knocking people who like the band - if people enjoy their music that is great. If we all liked the same music it would be a rather boring world.

Must admit some of the changes from the early versions aren't the best. The production is a bit 'much' - still a good album though.

Yeah they have speeded it up a bit and changed some of the lines. I guess it's the problem of listening to pre production stuff - normally you would never know!!!

I found it a bit disappointing after "...you look good...", I think he's a great lyricist and he's maybe listened to too many albums on the old Postcard label. The wearing of a guitar that high also disturbs me.

I'm justing reminding myself he's 18/19 and these a lot more to come. Their cover of Love Machine was good.

Yeah but wasn't Roddy Frame 15 or 16 when High Land, Hard Rain was released and the critics were doing much the same cartwheels then as they are for the Monkey's.

Come to think, it could go the opposite way and make him one of the biggest wankers under the Sun.

One of my concerns for them is they have made an album with tales for the weekend etc and now they are about to be swallowed up by the music industry, I hope the honest truth-telling continues, hopefully.
