0338. No silva news.

If we don't get him, could we still get him on loan with intent to buy a la PSG and Mbappe? Seems unlikely we'd have flown him in just to cheap out to 4m euro.

Especially when we sold drinkwater for thirty five ****ing million squid. That's a lot.
 
Not bad business. Drinkwater out for a good fee, improved upon by signing better for less and we've added another CB. Mahrez is going to be sulking all through January but oh well. There's a place on the bench if he's going to insist on throwing a strop.
 
Let's wait and see on Mahrez before we castigate him. You may very well be right but his attitude has been fine up to this point so maybe that will continue.

His attitude was shocking last season the question is does Shaky have the balls to drop him if he goes back to last season

Exactly this.

If Silva hasn't signed, then we're looking weak in the middle of the park. (Unless Iborra is an improvement on James/Ndidi).
 
If Silva hasn't signed we should follow Liverpools example and get him signed for the next window
 
The news this morning reads more positively than it did yesterday morning. What a difference a day makes!

We've made signings in key positions. So despite losing one experienced head, I'm upbeat about our window.

Assuming Silva is in.
Mahrez is now the concern. If he engineers a move to Barca after they fail to sign Coutinho then the only we we can be happy is if it's £50m PLUS the loan with an option to buy either Arda Turan (13goals, 7 assists last season despite being an irregular starter) or Andre Gomes who will further bolster midfield.
I wouldn't consider either bad business as I can't imagine a scenario where Mahrez lives down his clear globe trotting intention to secure a move away from the club. We need to stick to our guns to make sure we leverage the situation for more than just cash though - just like arsenal asked of man city before they would entertain selling sanchez
 
Great news thought that we are likely to be able to call on Ndidi, Iborra, Silva, James or King to fill 2 midfield spots regardless of if we play 442 or 343
