Genuinely believe we need rid of some of these players.

I also hope the owners don't play their little game.

We needed to get rid of them in the summer. What we should have done is kept Ranieri and allowed him to fire the bullets and the ungrateful little twats.

I'll always hold the players in high regard for what they achieved that season. They are, rightly, club legends. But they also appear to be unpleasant individuals who have been allowed to wield a bizarre amount of power at the club.

It's over. It's time for the band to split. It has been for some time, in truth.

As for the owners, they have been brilliant for us in general. We own the ground, we have no debt, the future of the club is secure. They have, of course, done pretty well out of it themselves. But when it comes to choosing managers they are utterly clueless.

Sousa (if he was there appointment) was appointed for his fame. Likewise Sven. Pearson was brought back because he'd been here before. Ranieri was famous and publicly applied for the job. Shakespeare was already here.

Hopefully the apparent annoyance of the players at not being consulted ahead of Shakespeare's sacking is a sign of change. It would be nice if the new man is somebody with a good recent record with no prior association with the club. The noises about Dyche would seem to point in that direction.

Distancing himself from the player power shit? Hopefully so. Especially as it comes from a) a newly signed, younger player b) one of the few to have performed well.

Absolutely agree. Stands out a mile that too much player power has been a major issue. I have thought for some time that the exiting of a fair sized chunk of the senior players would be in the long term interests of the club as well as the usual suspects in the club hierarchy. Will this happen? Doubt it. Could we get rid of that chunk of players in the short term through a 'fire sale' without being relegated this season ? Even more doubtful. However, time to bring in a proper manager now and surely the current Director of Football post has to be re-visited.

Circumstantial evidence (his comments at the time of Ranieri's sacking) suggests Schmeichel is among them. He's overrated anyway. Crap at crosses, terrible kicker, can't cope from long range. No idea about Morgan.

I'm not really bothered about their performances. A number of players have been very good on the pitch over the last three years. If they're in any way responsible for orchestrating Ranieri's dismissal and now sulking at Shakespeare's departure then they can go. It isn't their place to be involved in such things. Take your millions and do your best in return. If you don't like it, find another club.

What's the worst that could happen if the new man gets all ruthless with the wankers? Relegation? So what? Seen it before, I'll see it several more times. It's what we do. I'd rather have a balanced, well run and loyal set of players in the Championship than this lot playing amateur boardroom in the top flight. **** 'em.

How would I know? There's stuff out there to suggest that Schmeichel, Vardy and Fuchs are arseholes but there's hardly going to be a press release naming them, is there?

It was widely reported at the time of Ranieri's sacking that senior players were influential in the decision and it is being reported now that they have the arse over the latest sacking. Some might choose to go with the "journalists just making stuff up" angle. I don't think good journalists do make such things up.

I'd rip it up and start again. I'd risk relegation in doing so. I think a good number of our players are utter ****s who think they get to run the club because they won the league. They can **** off.

While not as strong in my views as Lee, I do think the side should have been blown up in the summer, and felt that way at the time.

Would have been very sad to see some of the players leave, Mahrez particularly for me, but it had become plainly obvious that they needed a "new challenge".

Would we really be that much worse off if Gray, Slimani, Chilwell and Barnes were given a real chance instead of clinging on to Vardy, Mahrez, Fuchs, etc?

I would agree that good journalists would not make things up - however how many good journalists are there? How much of what you read do you actually believe? Most journalists as we all know are lazy and will jump on any bandwagon and in doing so conduct no real investigative work at all.

I don't think we are in a position where we need to rip it up and start again unless of course the expectation is for us to compete for another title - and I'm sure that's not the case. Perhaps that is a little dramatic. I can't imagine any manager getting the job who in his (or her) interview declares that they are going to dismantle everything and start again. In my opinion a strong character is certainly needed - as it would be at any club with the player profiles being what they are today. To find that someone is not going to be easy and to a certain extent the next appointment will be a 'punt' - like it or not. And that's exactly how it has been with any of the previous managers mentioned above. To say the owners are 'clueless' when it comes to choosing managers is just plain nonsense.

The players were supposedly shocked at Craig's dismissal. I can understand sad but not shocked. Any manager who only wins one game in eight and has a team in the relegation zone is going to be in danger.
The players want to talk to the board. I can imagine the boards response. If Mahrez had not lost form; if Ndidi had played this season as he did last season, if Kasper had not let in a soft goal against West Brom Craig might still have a job.
