It's funny; I feel quite the opposite to you. We're back to where I feel comfortable. We're back to where we should be; where we always were. But I have the added of knowing what was always a fantasy was just for once a reality.

The pressure is off. Normality is all around.
So we should not push as a club?

I agree it was a punt but certainly not negligent at all. He was given a very specific job to do when he took over and we were 4th from bottom; to keep us up. He did that and we finished 12th, 10 points from relegation. To all intents and purposes he did exactly what was asked of him and finished the season with a record that, statistically, wasn't bad. There seems to be this understanding that there would have been a queue of managers forming to take control had Shakespeare not been given the job. The truth of the matter is that there more than likely wouldn't have been on the back of Ranieri's dismissal. I wanted us to take on Silva but that too would have been a punt and many posters on here were not in any way keen on him so I certainly understand why they went with CS.
WRT managers could be that it was Rudkin that put them off?

So only 'plastic fans' wanted Ranieri removed? What kind of wibbling nonsense are you on about now? I get the loyalty to Ranieri but I also fully understand the decision taken on many levels.

Nobody 'earns the right' to lose a business circa £150m plus (minimum) or let down tens of thousands of fans who have spent vast sums of their salaries in wanting to watch the highest level of football. He made too many errors and that's what cost him.
I think you forget that virtually every fan gets let down every season despite spending their dosh.

Just a non wind up opinion
Claudio did not let you down.Nobody knows how the season would turn out.
I think he did earn the right to be given the benefit of the doubt. As for spending money following your team justifying a sense of entitlement I despair.
The whole world fell in love with Lester because you achieved the impossible.
The fact I saw my team play in an FA cup final once re paid me handsomely for the money and let downs over many years.
My advice is to lighten up and contribute to the statue paid for by the fans for Claudio.Or should that be down to the owners?

Do you seriously expect anyone to take the opinion of the likes of you seriously? You shouldn't be posting so late on a school night.

I normally tell you to **** off at any given opportunity, but your reference to the statue sums up why I'm ****ed off at my club. Claudio has gone and our best ever manager isn't even acknowledged as far as I can tell. Sacked due to players who know so much better they've currently got us in the relegation zone. Why did no proper manager want the job between February and whenever Vardy's mate got the job? Grim

**** off though, consistency is key.

Thanks Fizz.Think we are singing from the same song sheet on this one.
If Silva had been half as good as Kante and had signed on time Shakey would still be in situ and the lynch mob would be silent. For now.
PS thanks for the Xmas invite but I"m already fully booked x

Some fair points, but a complete failure to acknowledge the complete turd regarding tactics, effort, attitude and approach to games served up by the Manager and players

There's much that appears wrong with the Club administration and recruitment, but nothing is more wrong than that which Manager and Players have delivered themselves on the pitch.

Totally agree.

Eighteen months ago, most of the same backroom staff, recruitment team, DofF, etc. were getting major plaudits for their genius. There is no doubt that some of them are conning a living out of the club, but that isn't where our fundamental issues lie. The angle a few of the national journalists are taking is typically lazy and uninformed.

The problem we have is a bunch of unmotivated and directionless players that were being led by a patsy (or pasty depending on your perspective). Insert a strong and smart manager and very quickly everything will seem much better.

Pay Eddie Howe 4 mill per year.Be prepared to sacrifice the chicken nuggets brigade.Be patient.
Afraid the above formula will not turn football facts of life around. The top 4 has become the top 6.Only the likes of Everton,West Ham and possibly a resurgent Villa or Newcastle or Leeds are likely to threaten the status quo.
Derby,Southampton,Forest,Lester,Sheff Weds,Ipswich,Brighton etc will not become top contenders over an extended period even if the worlds top managers went to them.
For the likes of Pops please enjoy what you have achieved but don"t think annual sacrificing of the boss will bring another league title any time soon.
If all goes wrong you can enjoy your cup final in Hull(if our rubbish manager doesn"t get us relegated. After all I*ve spent......!)

Don't think that there is too much doubt that there is a multiplicity of issues dragging down the club. Ranieri sadly had to go or we probably would have been relegated which these days is a total disaster and could have led to a meltdown. Shakespeare got the job through player power - but through the bungling of others lost his midfield and didn't have the tactical nous to cope anyway. The Telegraph article re-affirms what we already know in that Jon Rudkin has had and still has the ear of the owners and I don't see any way forward unless he goes or is effectively circumvented by a strong and highly skilled/ experienced manager. But I suspect that it will need more than just one person to do it. I realise that there are strong reasons for Steve Walsh snr to stay in the North West but Everton aren't doing well and it might be possible to lure him back to LCFC as Director of Football.
