what's that blomqvist up too these days?

Similar to Tottenham last season, then looked what happened the following saturday, a pitiful surrender at Sheff Wed.

Will be interesting to see if Kelly is brave enough to adopt similar tactics when league points are at stake. That is what I find so frustrating with the club in it's current state, glimpses of what it can be capable of against superior opposition only to return to dour dross against mediocrity.

Without wanting to poo poo Saturdays performance...
I'd say the biggest difference on Saturday was that Fulham gave us so much room. Any half decent player can look good when he's given time.
Compare that to the week before against Sunderland where they chased us down for 90 mins and we were shit.

Premiership teams tend to give you more space anyway. Usually because they are confident of outplaying you rather that having to run round after you and closing the ball down. This was proved when this back fired for Charlton against f****t!

It's not about how much possesion of the ball you have but what you do with it that counts. I think we should give credit where it's due.

exactly-overall stats are meaningless-the only thing that matters is goals

I thought though he made an "inspired substitution" on saturday....

Not really - it was an entirely obvious and even belated substitution.

He was far too pleased for his own good with getting a home draw with Fulham.....they don't travel well and were there to be beaten.

I understand that we played better...but that doesn't say much & at the end of the day Fulham would definitely have settled before the game for a replay at their place.

Just because nobody else has said, can I suggest you get your coat, OG? :icon_lol:

I am wearing it. Even with winter fuel allowance I cannot afford heating bills ans well as football matches. :icon_cry:

Quite agree - though on the last point, I recall george Graham once justify "boring Arsenal" by pointing out that if you never let the opposition get the ball you are assured one point. All you have to do then is score once!

Were not that far from being a good side. We just need a couple of midfielders, a striker and maybe a left back. Dont expect too much in the next couple of weeks. One or two GOOD players will be enough to keep us up. But the pre season is when we should spend the big bucks. To be honest i think we could see a lot of change in the pre season, rather like the pre season before Pompey went up.

Just a third of the team needed then?!!!
