we picked up £30,000 for Saturday's victory, £75,000 for the winners in the next round

Why? I live 5 mins from Selhurst Park and they're a good set of fans. Never seen any hint of violence on match days.

They have a Sainsbury's in their ground FFS ;)

I am amazed if we don't travel on the same trains for LCFC matches, I live 5 mins from there too. Are we one?

mid championship table surely can't be too much of an ask. Especially at home. We'd hope that we are as good as a mid table championship team wouldn't we?

Well we definitely were not anything close to that last season and I wouldn't say that we've massively improved since then.

Last year we had hollowhead. This year we have hardhead in charge. Last year we beat a few teams at the top of the championship, this year we have much more confidence.

I'd hope we can win this match.

I don't agree. I do not believe any of last seasons defenders was as good as Tunchev (despite his Dags performance). Martin has his critics but I think most people would prefer him to Ben Alnwick. Surely even Steve Howard's critics would not want Carl Cort or De Fries back. Lloyd Dyer is better than rhe wingers we had last season.
I believe that Matty's goal galley tally is not just because he is against worse players but also because he is playing better.
I do not pretend the present team would have been at the top of the Championship but I do not believe it would have been relegated either.

I think there are four big differences from last season
(1) We had a serious pre-season.
(2) The people we have brought in have been sensibly thought out; we are no longer right back united.
(3) The quality of people brought in - players and managerial team has been good.
(4) There is a sense of calm. Part of Martin Allen's style was to create a sense of crisis. When he and Megson left in quick succession Ian Holloway was brought in. Even Holloways admirers would not claim he is a calming influece.

I will make a prediction. I am sure that in a months time we will still have the same manager. Could we say that last season.

No. I am sure we will have the same manager but my concern is that we will not have the same players and he will have to partially rebuild again after the departure of some of our better players to balance the books.

Yes, a pretty boring draw but hey, at least we're still in the cup, unlike Leeds. HAHAHA!

This game has been confirmed for 3pm on Sat 3rd January 2009. Ticket prices will be announced shortly.

lets hope Mr Jordan is more receptive to our pricing policy than our previous opponents

It would be a great little confidence boost to beat CP. I wouldn't want a draw and replay. I don't like going to Selhurst it's the least attractive ground in London, and we really have to concentrate on promotion.
