It does not matter where the players come from, what matters is that CL brings in good new players and what better way to guarentee that than to bring in players he knows. Especially then they are so cheap.

Ok Hartley has 18 month to run on his contract and they would expect 200k, But that is nothing for a decent player that can score goals, Akinbadbuy is for sale at 350k, and we all know waht total utter shite he was. Compared with the money we have been use to paying out 200K is nothing.

Elliot 32k per week
Walker 20k per week
Scowy 20k per week
Benjy 17k per week
Total 89k per week ( 8million per year)

We know that those four players took about half of city's wage bill. so we are safe to assume that the remaining wage bill will be 8million a year.

We get the 5million windfall next season
At a guess the average gate must be a minimum of 175k per match, which is another 3.5million per season.

All in all we should be about half a million in credit. enough to sign a decent striker for 200k.

How we made an operating profit of 5.5 million last year. I dont know?

it's outrageous!
if this was happening to us we'd be going bananas!
£30k transfers? that's less than a weeks pay for some of our squad!
:?

I can see where you are coming from. But if Hearts want Wilcox, Makin, Blake, Morris, Gemmill etc, I would be happy to oblige

they can have all them, as well as a few more, for a combined total fee of 30,000

Hartley

Why is Hartley not a regular international if hes so good, what do you Scottish fans know about the guy OBrien from Livingston, any good?

200k was just an estimate btw :P As youngscot said Celtic are prepared to offer 300k.

Realistically this year in the summer we'll have..what...500k to spend (optimistically)? We had 1 million this summer because of where we finished in the Premiership and we spent it on Williams and Connolly. I can't imagine we'll have more than half of that this close season (with parachute payments, savings on players wages – we’ll still have to bring in about 10 players anyway), is Levein going to spend most of that on one player or on several players? What if Hearts push up the price? I suppose it's all possible, but surely there is no way we'll spend that kind of money in this window.

Don't know where you are getting your figures from but they are overstated. Our playing budget (wages & transfer fees) was not as high as £16m.

The original figures at the beginning of the season did state that the players on long term contracts = around 1/2 the budget but that included Jones prior to retirement being announced and the total value was nearer £10m than £16m

I thought Scowy was 17k p/w and Walker was 14k p/w.

hes not an international cos vogts didnt fancy him. vogts did, however, fancy kevin kyle among others. i rest my case on this one...

o'briens very good. him and david mcnamee were at st mirren as teenagers and both went to blackburn. it never worked out for them so they both came back up the road to livi. o'briens wanted for scotland but he turned us down to play for south africa, altho he sounds as scottish as me och aye the noo jimmy, etc
but we're after both o'brien and mcnamee so i dont think ude like them very much...

Youngscot mate... don't you wanna take some of this shite off our books?

Pressman is one hell of a keeper with age on his side....

There's a whisper that Burton O'Brien had agreed to sign for Aberdeen, should be official by this weekend.

Does anyone know exactly what the players are on???
Point I was making, was there should be money available once they go
