For me the most disappointing games came in our last premiership season -

3 - 0 up at Wolves to lose 4 - 3

3 - 1 up at Middlesboro in injury time only to draw 3 - 3

Those two performances and results epitomised our season and like many other matches where we conceeded late sloppy goals rubbed salt into the wounds as to how close we could have been to staying up, if only we could have held on in these and countless other matches. Piss Poor and thoroughly depressing.

Discuss.

Code:
Southampton 2-2
Spurs 1-2
Wolves 3-4
Charlton 1-1
Everton 2-3
Newcastle 1-1
Bolton 2-2
Man City 2-2
Middlesbrough 3-3
Bolton 1-1
Tottenham 4-4

So’ton (h): led 2-0, drew 2-2.
Spurs (h): led 1-0, lost 2-1.
Wolves (a): led 3-0, lost 4-3.
Ch’ton (h): led 1-0, drew 1-1.
Everton (a): led 2-1, lost 3-2.
N’castle (h): led 1-0, drew 1-1.
Bolton (a): led 1-0, drew 2-2.
Boro (a): led 3-1, drew 3-3.
Bolton (h): led 1-0, drew 1-1.
Spurs (a): led 4-3, drew 4-4.

I remember the Boro Away game

Went cinema heard City had gone 2-0, came out my dad says 3-2. 3 seconds later 3-3! Plus to travel all that away for certain fans.

The same happened with Wolves, went to Nottingham to watch Panthers ice hockey. Whilst on our way popped in a pub for some grub, smiling 3-0 up. Came out turn the radio on 4-3 to Wolves.

:icon_lol: they really do put us through it at times i just knew once wolves got a goal back we would completely blow it :icon_sad: its never dull though is it :icon_lol:

If I had the time I would of wrote Fever Pitch of LCFC last season. It was a rollercoaster of a season.

Went to first game against Southampton, just came back from holiday. Had a car crash hour before game. Car went straight into my seat. Lucky enough still made it for the game. I thought God must love me when Dickov and Ferdinand scored.

Then after a few home games went Villa way. They facked us up in 15 minutes. Got to an ice cream van outside ground, some Villa fan said your team will stay up. I laughed. Some Asian lad came out of his house when we were on our way to our car. He said 'What was the score' He lived 50 metres from Villa Park and didnt know the score. I told 'Your team play tomorrow'(In reference to ManUre). Also pissed up a community centre.

Chapter 2 later

The Wolves match last year was the worst feeling for a long while. But the most dissapointing from a personal point was our 3rd. lose in the F.A. Cup Final. Been to everyone but that was the worst feeling I had and I with some mates didn't leave London sober till the Monday after. Couldn't face anybody for about a week or so.

Happy Birthday Bilborough Fox

Wycombe, the result was bad enough, but the catalyst for the nightmare period that followed too.

Went to the Manure away after that Wycombe game. We had our reserves out. Gilchrist at the back, Benjamin up front, Lewis in midfield and facking Kevin Ellison got a run-out. 88 minutes gone 0-0, within 2 minutes 2-0.

you got your first semi when you were six:icon_eek: :icon_eek:

It's hard to think that in all of those games we were leading we threw away 23 points! Wouldn't have taken too many of them to have kept us up.

I managed to get down for the Southampton game, wherre we looked excellent in the first half. I was waiting at an airport in Spain during the Wolves game, getting the score through the Text service. Never has my mood changed so quickly.

For those of us not at the game there was a Classic match thread. I think Webbie has deleted it. :icon_sad:

However I did find another thread posted by Dorktwat :icon_roll and I think you will find the result of this friendly interesting.:) :) ;)
