Beswick On Target In Academy Draw
Leicester City's under 18 side battled out a 1-1 draw at Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday afternoon.
The young Foxes went into the game having amassed an incredible 28 points from 11 games so far this campaign.
And their unbeaten run now stretches to 11 games following the draw in the capital.
Ryan Beswick gave City the lead with 15 minutes on the clock, and the Foxes would continue to dominate the game throughout the first period.
But Spurs got themselves into the fixture in the second period, and despite an admirable display by City goalkeeper Carl Pentney the home side would make the breakthrough with just 10 minutes remaining.
Walkers Youth Academy manager Jon Rudkin said: "We began the game very well and took it to Tottenham. We played some good football during the first half and created a number of decent chances.
"But Tottenham got themselves into the game in the second half and in the end a draw was probably a fair result."
Meanwhile, Reading's 3-0 victory over Watford means that City's lead at the top of the Group B table has now been reduced to three points.
City: Pentney, Magunda, Lycett, Garner, Mattock, Gradel (Odhiambo), King, Tejan-Sie, Beswick, McKay, Chambers (Rowe-Turner).
