Aplogies if this has been touched on before, but...

As a lifelong City fan (albeit from a distance now), one thing still puzzles me as not only a City fan but as a general football fan.

When i'm not watching City perform (sorry, please put under before perform) i enjoy (as i am sure most people do) watching 2 teams playing attractive attacking football.

This is not to say that there aren't certain times when defensive play is needed, but nothing pis**s me off more that watching a match where either one or both teams play (Wimbledon) hoofball.

If on watching a match on TV one of the teams is playing hoofball i (nearly)always want the team playing attractive penatrative footballl to win.

So, why do we (as City fans) have to accept hoofball as our preferred method of play? Many other teams with (arguably) as mediocre a bunch of players as us do not adopt this style of play, then why the hell do WE?

We wonder why we're not on TV, and are never chosen for extended highlights on TV even when we cause an upset, well, i'm sorry but our ''style'' of play is pathetic, negative and unattractive.

I'm now going to quote something that i am sure will have many die hard fans calling for my scalp, but i would rather see us playing attractive and progressive attacking football and not get promoted than play the current dross of hoofball and get to the Premier league.

If we (and this is unlikely, i know) do get promoted this season our current ''style'' of football will look pathetic and we will be found wanting by almost all the other teams in that division. The result of which, will almost certainly be relegation. So why play this style at all?

I want (no matter how crap the bunch of players) us to play the ball along the ground and play attractive football.

Until we start to do this we are going nowhere fast.

i would ****in love to think of us as a mediocre team at the moment, really i would

i couldn't think of another word that summed us up more aptly than that, which could be included in a thread that minors may read!

I was with you until that point then I had to laught and turn away

I know it is very early but I seriously think we could be in trouble this year. The first half yesterday was as bad as I have seen city play.

Wasn't there personally. But i can't see how playing this style of sh*** will ever get us further forward.

Surely MM would rather see us playing attractive football. So why emply Megson?

we could be the new leeds/forest/sheff wed of the season

give him time FFS

Newts, i'm only saying i don't want this style of football to be tagged to us. I'm not saying he is neccessarily the wrong manager, just that this type of fooball is seriously flawed.

you carnt say that after he changed it round in the second half sat ,we played loads better .

Ok we only got a point but i think that shown what is needed to be done ill stay on the sides untill after tuesday night :icon_wink

Fair enough, as i said i wasn't there, but wasn't it a straight swap, or did he change his tactics?

hoofball no i don't think he will ,it didn't work sat and he saw that ,he's trying different thing with different players just let him sort it out first the team is very unsettled still ,getting better though IMO

Looking forward to a settled team and some good football then. I'm not impatient, and i understand he needs some time to gel things and hopefully bring in some fresh faces...
