Strikers aren't all about goals. Look at Emile Heskey, just signed for a potential top 4 club and he hardly scores. Howard has been one of our better players so far this season.

I have been very impressed with Howard this season and I am a big fan of his but I think we do need someone is as back-up should he be unavailable. A long-term injury to Howard is possibly the only thing that I think could derail us this season.
