Guessing they set a deadline of yesterday for appealing. Why the **** has it taken until now? 4 weeks to get some lawyers to write that it's a bit harsh being 14 seconds late and we're sorry for being useless?

I'm sure they took so long to make sure they verified all the facts, provided all the evidence and gotten support and persuasive written legal documents from the FA....Legal issues are not quick processes...unless you watch Law and order

All the facts? The main and most important one was we were incompetent enough to miss the deadline by pissing about until the last minute.

But the alternative facts are all on our side.

According to news reports it was submitted on time, but didn't reach their system in time. So we were not incompetent.

I totally understand your frustration, but I am personally looking at the bigger picture

1 - I don't believe we would have purchased Silva or Silva join us unless he was going to get regular first team football (with uncertainty of DD leaving he was never going to happen unless he was leaving)
2- to back up the above, if Silva did join and DD didn't leave we are left with one player being benched and that will probably be Silva...our bench will be incredibly expensive
3 - Transfers are not a quick easy process especially at the last minute and on deadline day
4 - Silva is a great player, but we are acting like he will be our saviour, we are struggling all over the park, one decent midfielder ain't gonna save the day
5 - It is what it is and we have to deal with it, no amount of forum ranting is going to get Rudkin Sacked, Shakey out or change what has happened or change anything happening in the future. We have to just deal the cards we are given and get on with it.

I may be wrong but that's my view

This is my main problem with this transfer. We tried to get him last season. We've then had a full summer to try and get it sorted. If the selling club were causing it to rumble on for several months we could have looked at alternatives. Instead we've allowed it to get to the final seconds to try and complete and hit a snag either with a delay at our side or theirs. Either way we're arguing about a number of seconds rather than the months we actually had to get shit done.

The real question now is whether the appeal was received in time for yesterday's deadline.

I'm sorry, your post arrived after the deadline.

Fortunately, a very similar statement was made before it.

Oh - I must have missed it. Can you point it out?

It would appear that there has been no appeal (at least according to The Mercury).

Negotiations ongoing over midfielder's registration

Rather than submitting an official appeal to convince Fifa to change their stance on Adrien Silva, it appears City have been going through negotiations with the governing body over the four weeks since deadline day.

City are being patient and are hoping that at some point a breakthrough is made.

But, no timescale has been set, so the waiting continues.
