So it seems as though we're to lose four players - Amartey, Schlupp, Slimani and Mahrez. It says here that they join their squads on Monday morning so the last game they're available for is West Ham, although some countries may allow players to stay on for the 2nd Jan fixtures. They'll be back in early Feb, before or after the Man Utd fixure.

Mahrez and Slimani can sort their heads out. Jeff will hopefully be sold whilst he's away and Demarai can get time to flourish. Amartey will be missed but hopefully it's time for the Drinky and Mendy show to get on the road. Is there any chance Andy King will play in that tournament?

Depends how well their teams do. If they don't make it past the group stage they could be back in time for a possible FA cup fourth round match. If they're knocked out in the quarter finals they should be back in time for the Burnley game at the end of January.

I thought that the strategy was for Mendy to maintain match fitness.....by not actually getting on the pitch.
