The Birch used to do a pub quiz every week in Swithland until about eight years ago, and he was genuinely entertaining and funny back then. It helped that the same people went week in, week out, so there was general banter all around, everyone got the in jokes and could join in, heckle, etc. I never missed it - great fun!

Standing up in front of a 20,000 crowd (if we're lucky) is not the same, and for Birch it just doens't work. Plus he's STILL using the same crap gags - the good ones are far too rude to be used at half time. His "humour" was largely based around being a bit of a prat, which he is, and the fact that he's so bloody cynical about most things, which he can't be as a "PR man".

I'd rather just have the other scores read out whilst I sprint to the pie stand to find they've sold out, giving me about 13 seconds to drink my beer before the second half kicks off. You know, the traditional half time entertainment...

i am hardly ever at the half time entertainment as i pop down for a pint usually but this game i was a little worse for wear after friday night and stayed for it........half times are shit everywhere, all people i know that have come to the walkers as away fans have found the birch to be a refreshing change to most half time entertainment. personally i couldn't give a toss what i hear or see at half time as the game is most important and trying to get a quick pint in at half time is more pressing that to see who has won some feckin money or kids taking pentalties (yawn). has anyone ever been entertained at half time at a game they've been to home or away?

They didn't used to be. Before last season they were quite good at most grounds. Now most grounds just play some old c.ds.

What's happened to Joe Fox haven't seen him post on here since before the world cup started?
He's made a few posts. BTW, re half time entertainment, I don't give a toss, as I'm supping a beer and getting the half-times on the concourse screens. Same at away games as well, plus a chance to meet a pal or two.
