We could do worse than getting Clapham for a month or 2 as back up.

Nothing special, but he is steady.

Be better than shoving a winger or right back at left back.

The Jonathan Ground rumour seems plausable im sure NP still has Boro contacts and he is a specialist left back (young but with Prem experience) and Boro expect to sign Hoyte soon (who could cover as lb)

Boro are signing Hoyte because they haven't got an experinced right back.

From what I saw of him he did nothing wrong at all when we had him.

I remember getting slated last season when I said we should have renewed Clapham's contract because we won't find anyone better than him in League One when Mattock eventually pisses off to the Premiership. IMO he even played better than Mattock did in the time he was at the club.

JC would have been fine for this league.

Defensively he did, going forward he was poor.
But a steady player none the less.

I don't think so - and neither did Southend who had him on trial but didn't offer him a contract

He was an utter joke of a signing, and one of contributory factors to us getting relegated last year IMO

Going forward he didn't get past the feckin' half way line

And he was no better defensively than either Mattock or Sheehan

i thought clapham was ok, decent enough back up for mattock anyway. must be better than playing players out of position IMO

he is too slow and physically weak, he got destroyed againeat sheffield wednesday and bottled out of challenges with anyone above 5'10ft

So who is going to come here and sit on the bench as a back up then?

Which solid left back is going to be happy with that?

I've said it before but I'd be happy with getting in a good, solid left-back and playing him ahead of Mattock - or certainly having him compete with Mattock for the spot and not 'just' being a back-up.

FT are reporting that Logan will go to Stockport on loan after the game until January. :icon_wink
