Alnwick Arrives

Leicester City have today (Monday) completed the signing of England under 21 international goalkeeper Ben Alnwick from Tottenham Hotspur on loan until the end of the season.
The former Sunderland stopper becomes Ian Holloway's fourth capture of the transfer window - following Barry Hayles, Steve Howard and Zsolt Laczko through the doors of the Walkers Stadium.
Alnwick joins the City squad following the departure of Marton Fulop - who was recalled from his loan spell with the Foxes by Black Cats boss Roy Keane on New Year's Eve.
Ironically, Fulop was part of the deal that saw Alnwick move to White Hart Lane form Sunderland in January 2007 - with the London club paying £900,000 for his services.
The 21-year-old goalkeeper had a brief loan spell at Luton in October, but was recalled following an injury to Paul Robinson.
Alnwick said: "It's great to be here. I have known Richard Stearman for a number of years through the England set up and he couldn't speak highly enough of the club when I spoke to him before the move.
"I just want to play games now and help Leicester City up the table. Who knows what will happen after that."
Alnwick began his career at Sunderland and rose to prominence at the climax of the 2004-05 Championship season when he replaced the injured Thomas Myhre for the final three games of the campaign.
At the age of just 18, Alnwick was called up between the sticks for the Black Cats for a five-game stint in the Premiership during the 2005-06 campaign.
He played 12 games during 2006-07 Championship campaign before moving to Spurs in January.
Alnwick has been capped by England at under-17, U18, U19 and U21 level and was part of Stuart Pearce's squad alongside Joe Mattock and Richard Stearman that took part in the UEFA Championship Qualifiers against Bulgaria and Portugal in November.
