Injury-hit Stephen Clemence can see light at end of tunnel. From the Mockery. :icon_conf

Stephen Clemence has vowed to return to Leicester City action – but he stopped short of setting a deadline.

The 31-year-old club captain has had a wretched time with injury for nearly two years.

Sounds like he is just struggling to walk about normally let alone play football. Be amazed if he makes the bench before 2010.

Clemence is in his thirties and has been over a season without a match. While he may well recover enough to play professional football I would be surprised of he is ever sharp enough to play in the Championship again. Good luck to him but I doubt if we will see him in a Leicester shirt again.

Is he technically still our captain then? I know Oakley was acting-captain last season, but surely now NP will have to name him as permanent skipper?

I would think so.

Wouldn't be suprised if Clemence doesn't even get a squad number. I reckon Wellens will take his number 6 shirt

What made you think that? Was it the part where he says that he goes jogging after his workouts in the gym?

No it was the:

'It's all been quite stressful as I've set targets which I haven't made and then I've asked myself if it's ever going to be right.'

and

'I then do some light jogging outside and a bit of ball work but I do tend to get a bit of reaction the next day'

I am very unfit and overweight but I can do light jogging and a bit of ball work without getting a reaction the next day.

For fecks sake the guy is supposed to be a physically fit professional. If he is no where near medically, yet alone match fit after two years what realistic chance has he of being available to play before Xmas?

He's got very little chance at all, most probably no chance whatever, but I still can't see anything that would make you think he's struggling to walk.
