Speculation And manager for next season?

I think Shakespeare's success is largely down to his relationship with this group of players, so if we are are able to keep this squad together, he would be the best man to lead them.

However, if key players leave and a rebuilding job is required, a more experienced manager would be the wiser decision IMO.

Pearson was here for a good few years so of course the nucleus of the squad was his. What did you expect, Ranieri to sign his own entire squad in six weeks of pre-season.

Every time a new manager takes over he's taking over someone else's squad. Doesn't matter who signed the players, what matters is what the manager gets out of them. Ranieri got performances out of almost every player that were not only substantially better than what Pearson had got out of them, but also better than the players had ever played before in their careers.

The great escape was a good run after Pearson finally found a formation that worked after dozens of failed attempts. Ranieri got his formation right first time. Pearson's great escape consisted of beating a couple of relegated teams and five mid table teams who were already on the beach, as well as getting hammered by Chelsea. Ranieri had us beating anyone and everyone all season long.

What happened this season I don't know, but anyone trying to discredit Ranieri's performance last season is an idiot, plain and simple.
At no stage have I tried to discredit Ranieri

5 games without a win. 5 games to go. I'd say he needs at least 3 wins to be seriously in the running for the job next season.

I've a sneaky feeling there will be massive changes this summer.
It's got all the feel of that.

A squad resistant to change and yet underperforming is never going to be allowed to coast another season. I hope we retain Kasper, but the rest of them are welcome to explore their options. If we are going to seriously meet the expectations to compete for Europe each season then it won't be with this bunch of players or the manager.

At least that'll make for an exciting summer.

My thoughts on the nose.

I just don't think Shakespeare will keep the job and I'd like Marco Silva in, been really impressed with what he's done at Hull.

Wouldn't mind Rafa in either when he realises that Mike Ashley still won't spend money

I'm drifting more and more towards him not being offered the job, which means he will more than likely be offered the job.

I think we are in danger of creating a happy little insider club where certain players are best mates with the manager and getting them to change will be almost impossible.

I think I'm ready for a change, I can't watch us give such quality bereft performances as this bunch are capable of.

Unless they are 100% at it they simply look like very average players, we have to be able to mix it up a bit.

I won't cry over anyone leaving in truth, not after our shambolic domestic efforts this season.

It wouldn't surprise me if we opt for the bigger name if the right one shows an interest. Can seriously see us going for Mancini. Rafa is a good shout but expect he will be planning to stay with Newcastle for now and take it from there, if he doesn't get the financial support from their chairman then you'd expect he'll want out at some point.

Nice result for Shakey today. If he wins out the season it'll be hard for the owners to change.

Vardy and Fuchs who were so poor under CR this season have been incredible since Shakey took over. What do you guys put that down to?

Claudio just sat in Wetherspoons all season long drinking Cherry B

Oh Homer.:)
All sorts of comments have been made about Claudio but that will really hurt. I have known many Romans and none of them would dream of drinking Cherry B.
I hope Claudio is sitting in some friendly little café in the heart of Rome eating delicious food, laughing with friends admiring the most beautiful women in the world (apart from Aylestone) and enjoying a glass of frascati.

Doubt he'd be in the heart of Rome if he wanted decent food.

Most amazing women in the world, until they hit 43.
