I'm with Webbo on this one - the change in policy of smoking areas half way through the season was another bad move. It may have satisfied a handful of smoking fans but the decision to allow smoking in the stands at half time and before/after the match was made with absolutely no thought for the non-smokers. It boils my blood sometimes - I can't stand the decision making big wigs at the club - they are a disgrace.

The smoking thing was changed because the concourse was a smog-ridden nightmare for the poor little delicate flower non-smokers at half time

Joe if you actually ever went to the Walkers  you would realise that it was a good move for non smokers. :-D

He's upset that Big Edna created a special smoking area in Debenham's cafe

It upsets him when he's sat there with his lemon tea and iced finger

DurhamFox - I've been to the Walkers on many occasions. Changing the smoking policy without consulting season ticket holders who are against smoking is awful conduct and in breach of the terms and conditions of the 'contract' (ie the season ticket)

The stewards do not enforce the smoking ban in the concourse, it's a case of "well, I tell them to stop and they do it anyway" attitude from the stewards. (A bit like, "Well I told him not to run on the pitch but he did it anyway").

The club do not protect all of it's fans.

The change in smoking policy was implemented following full consultation with the Fans Forum and was undertaken with their unanimous agreement

So everyone effected by the ban can go to the fans forum? Well that's bollocks. From what I hear about 100 people tops went to the fans forum. Why do they get the deciding vote on things like this? It's democracy gone mad.

Surely the club should have consulted all persons affected by the change of policy - not just those who weren't busy on the night of the sham that is the fans forum.

I'll raise my middle iced finger at Davies.

Joe - The Fans Forum is by invite only and is designed to reflect the veiw of all fans. The original policy at the start of season was unbearbale for non smokers who wanted to go in to the concourses. You cant have been to the ground since they changed it to non smoking in the concourses as its 100% better. There is no quible here for the non smoker, its like trying to ban smoking in the open air, rdidculous. I am a non smoker and dont particulary enjoy inhaling 2nd smoke btw.

While it's far from perfect, the Fans Forum contains represwntatives of all of the supporters club, and the Foxes Trust (and pitiful hangers on like me)

Together they represent several thousand supporters

The Smoking issue was raised due the fact that the club (without consultation) had changed the long standing smoking policy at the start of the season

The decision was taken to revert back to the original policy that has been in place since the Walkers opened, in advance of full and open consultation with all fans - particularly in relation to a complete smoking ban

How the feck did they let you in ?
Anyway give it 5 years and Smoking will be banned virtually everywhere,I don't what will happen to the West Highland Pipe Smokers Club...bleak days are ahead.

I understand your points but it has still pissed off some fans.
Also, you haven't answered my point about the smoking in the concourses that still goes on. Why does it?

It carries on 'cos the stewards are completely and utterly shite

The policy is clearly stated, and it's up to the club to enforce it

So now the club is wrong - make your mind up homer!

"Oh no, oh no. Someone is smoking in the concourse. I'm too delicate a flower to take that. How awful. Help me, Mr Steward. I only come to one game each year, and I can't bweathe pwoperly 'cos the big men are smokin' dem dirty ciggierettes."

You're only one step away from buying some Walkers Lites, you steamin' queen
