Did well though. Looked a lot more interested than Smith did in his last few matches. I think he should start next match, We were lacking so much width before he came on. Everything was just hoofed up the centre.

Spot on and so pointless as Leon Cort seemed to be on the end of every hoof. :icon_roll However when it was on the ground he lost out and even threatened Hume when Hume harassed him. :thumbs_up ;) :icon_wink

bang on. i thought he came on and looked like he wanted to get involved, which is moreb than williams did. i think he could be a good signing for us. a proper winger hugging the touchline is what we need to open things up.

I thought he did ok, looks a decent direct winger, although stuggled to deliver any killer crosses into the box, as with the miss, his approach play was excellent it was just the end product that was poor, but TBH it was as good as a goal as he managed to run the clock down, it was actually quite intelligent play.

Considering he only joined earlier in the week, I thought he showed more than enough today to show he will be a welcome addition, certainly looked better balanced and as others stated provided much needed width when he came on.

He did well when he came on. Brevett reminds me of Big Frank. Bit of a donkey, but the fans will love him. I liked the "Rufus for England" chants from the kop.

I thought Rufus was class, you cant teach it :icon_lol: his first touch for his new club was a slice straight into Row Z, quality. What I did like about Rufus though was that he looks a no nonsense defender, isnt going to piss about in possession, possibly what we need as we certainly have enough footballing defenders.

We lacked width and a natural winger would off been ideal on Saturday.

Here's my Luton team
Hendo
Stearman Paddy Mac (or is he out) KisNobo Johansson
Maybury Hughes Joey G Welsh
Fryatt Hume

If Paddy Mac's out, Johansson move across and Brevett at left back.

I'd go with that mate. :038: :038:

Spot on selection IMO :038: although if Rab is fit I've got a feeling RK will drop Hendo.

RK just picks a formation where the players fit the positions, its the sort of thing you do at any level and i don't get why players got played out of position. i think the above is our best selection but once a right winger comes in the back 4 will change and maybury will no longer be left to struggle out of position

I could make a case for Maybury not starting at all if we have a decent right winger.

You mean by playing a central defender at left back, a central midfielder on the left, and a right back in midfield - where in each of those cases a player was available who is more suited to the position?

Despite what he said a few weeks ago, I don't think Kelly is playing players in their proper position any more than Levein did.

Exactly the same conversation as I had with Duzza on saturday, I would hope that Welsh and Brevett have settled in and that on saturday Kelly fields a side with more balance.

It may have been a howler of a miss but it was a really great run...and it did run the clock down.

I thought he got a nudge in the back as he was about to shoot. He should still have done better though. I don't think Sylla would have made that run though, he would have stood still and passed the ball backwards to someone else.
