Difference being you have the option to opt out on the HTC and it is not stored on the phone and potentially on a PC. :icon_wink

One observation about all of this information is that companies do this to make money. Why is it that the end producer of this information, the phone owner, never gets a cut of the profits?

HTC is at it too. I knew about this but you can turn it off and as far as I know there is no storage on the phone.

When I got my Android phone a box from Google popped up asking for permission to send them the location data, so it's a lot better than Apple's version which just does it and hides it in page 723 of their terms and conditions.

You can switch the location data off in the settings...
