Re: The Championship 2012/2013

Michael Appleton sacked after 67 days according to t'internetz.

Isn't that two days longer than he stayed at Blackpool?

Meanwhile Blackburn will be looking for their fourth manager of the season - the same number that some Manchester club have had since they parted with Frank O'Farrell a little over 40 years ago.

Apparently the reserve team coach will be in charge for the rest of the season.

Ludicrous.

Appleton is the fourth manager to leave Blackburn since Venky's bought the club in November 2010. The first was Sam Allardyce, who was sacked in December 2011 with Blackburn in 13th place in the Premier League. Allardyce's replacement, Kean, was in charge last season as Blackburn were relegated in 19th place.
Thank goodness Venky's never got anywhere near City.

Re: The Championship 2012/2013

I wonder who the next manager will be? Must have near to feck all experience of management I guess

Re: The Championship 2012/2013

Interesting that the Venky's get criticised for getting rid of him after an 8 game losing streak. Yet NP should be sacked after 1 win in 9....Surely if you think NP should be sacked then Appleton should be sacked?

A new manager would usually be given longer to get the team playing the way he wants, and to sign the players he wants. Poor performances can be blamed on his predecessor's players and coaching. An established manager doesn't have that excuse.

He is probably the only one left as the others went with Appleton. The Rovers website is very brief as it can be seen here as this is all it said!

Blackburn Rovers FC can confirm that Michael Appleton has been relieved of his duties as manager along with assistant manager Ashley Westwood, first team coach Darren Moore and head of senior recruitment Luke Dowling.

I have conducted an in-depth examination of teh pixels and can confirm that is definitely legit and has not been Photoshopped in any way. The discrepancy with the Blackburn badge is most likely due to some sort of local meteorological effect
