Are Soldiers worth more or less than traffic wardens?

I'd say it depends on who is paying their wages.

If a soldier and a Traffic Warden share the same employer, then IMO the soldier should earn more, without question.

If they have different employers, then the two aren't comparable.

What an utterly useless report. Complete and utter bullshit.

Soldiers should do it for nothing other than honour.

The answer is obvious, soldiers should be set to work shooting people who are illegally parked and all the traffic wardens can then be used to illegally invade other countries.

Army pay:

Code:
Lower band pay (as of April 2008)
Rank From Rising To
New Entrant £13,012.80
Private £16,226.76 £25,181.88
Lance Corporal £19,628.52 £27,599.28
Corporal £25,181.88 £31,645.56
Sergeant £28,622.64 £35,218.80
Staff Sergeant £31,684.56 £40,096.68
Warrant Officer Class 2	£34,379.16 £41,248.80
Warrant Officer Class 1	£36,812.16 £44,587.80

When you add in the extras soldiers get, such as subsidised housing, I'm sure most soldiers get paid more than most traffic wardens.

Interesting, now divide any member of the forces daily rate of pay by 24 and compare that to a Traffic Wardens hourly rate on an 8 hour shift. (Of course, TW works past his 8 hours, he gets overtime)

How many people in the army 'work' 24 hours a day?

When they're away they get paid extra anyway.

I'm not saying I think they're well paid, just that the comparison is not comparing like with like.

People who go into the army know what they're doing, and what they're going to get paid. There are plenty of people who get paid less.

Most people in the army do sweet FA all day every day of their career.

Did you see how many people actually wanted to get out when we entered into a war?

Maybe you should divide the soldiers pay by number of enemy killed and TWardens by number of tickets given.

I'm sure being a traffic warden is a more dangerous job than being a soldier.

The French army run far quicker than the Brits

That's old France
