steady on highland im sure homer said he would be our saviour this season

Along with Lee Morris wasn't it ?

The actual prediction was Wilcox crossing the ball to Blake, who nods it down to Morris - who scores the goal to secure our survival in this league

Coming from the man who predicted promotion after CL's appointment in a historical thread of Chandler's its not suprising.

The step to the front door of the pie shop does not count as "stairs", HF

if we do go down, how much responsibility must CL take...

a large amount would be my take on it...

We won't be going down because Ipswich are better than Crewe and Brighton and need points.

It was clear from early Autumn that this was going to be a miserable season and nothing has changed except that MA left earlier rather than later.

Whoever took over was going to have a thankless task clearing up the mess. This is not to say that CL is bound to be a success - that remains to be seen. However, he deserves a proper chance to see if he can improve things.

I agree completely

He will, however, be given precisely ten games before the pack descends upon him and tears him apart. Sad but true

Do you think he will get that long?.....

Lets not forget that we are starting from year 0 once again. Ten games is not long enough when putting together a side from scratch! 10 games is crazy talk...he needs a season of building at least...followed by finishing touches the season after (with promotion as a bonus hopefully)

I heard that mrs homer calls him 'spiderman', not because of his strength and physique, but because he can't get out of the bath by himself...

Could not agree more Silver mate, but can you see the 'fickle boneheads' giving him that. We are all frustrated by the crap we have been watching this season and hopefully CL can sort it out, but the seeds were sown for this season way before CL arrived, he needs time sew some new seeds (although by the sounds of it he has been doing that anyway ;-) ) and get us all feeling like a football club again. I big black cloud has been hanging over us for a long time and he needs more than six months to get rid of it.
