So we begin again with a few new faces and no clue how it will all pan out.

Some stats to get you in the mood. Our last win against Arsenal in a league game was in 1994. Our last win at Arsenal was in 1973. The last time we won our first game of a top flight season that was away was 1933.

On the other hand, Arsenal have started their last two seasons with a home defeat.

My prediction - Arsenal 4 City 0. The only way to win there is to be tactically clever. We aren't.

Don't fancy it one bit and never do.

Got offered a free ticket in the home end which I declined for two reasons:

1) if we lose (probable) I have to sit and cheer.

2) if we win or draw I can't celebrate.

Feels like lose, lose to me.

I'll settle for the tango man appearing from nowhere and slapping Wenger in the face with his giant orange hands.

Can't wait to get started again :038::038::038:

assuming we go 442 i would think Shakey will go with
Kasper
Simpson Maguire Morgan Fuchs (ahead of Chilwell in this formation)
Albrighton Ndidi James Mahrez (Iborra not suited to this formation)
Vardy Iheanacho

Hopefully they will have a few key playera out ie Ramsey Ozil Sanchez
Im hoping for a hard fought 1-1 draw Vardy

If we can get away from the emirates with a half decent goal difference it will be pleasing. It feels like we don't have a chance against Arsenal. Of the top four we've not even come close.

The back 5 picks itself. It'll definitely be 4-4-2. He won't play Mahrez against his potential suitors. Huth and Drinkwater injured. Iheanacho won't start due to fitness. The only two question marks are Slimani or Okazaki, and James or Iborra.

I think he'll go for the following:

Schmeichel

Simpson / Morgan / Maguire / Fuchs

Gray / N'Didi / James / Albrighton

Vardy / Slimani

So ready for the footy to start.

So not ready to watch us take a hiding live on TV to open the campaign.

Really hope we turn up and get into the soft ****ers.

Mahrez will play. Taking aside he's our best player and likely to be highly motivated to put in a good performance at the minute while the transfer window is still open (particularly against a club he'd like to join), if we don't play him then it devalues him while we're trying to get a bigger fee because if we're not going to play him because he wants a move, we're clearly happy to sell him.

Schmeichel
Simpson, Morgan, Maguire, Fuchs
Mahrez, Ndidi, James, Albrighton,
Nachos, Vardy

Only one question in there for me Iheanacho, as he might not want to throw him straight in as he's not played much in pre-season. If he doesn't start it will be Shinji.

My team would be (5-3-2 with the flexibility to easily move to 4-5-1):

Schmeichel
Simpson Morgan Maguire Fuchs Chilwell
Iborra N'Didi James
Mahrez Vardy

However, it's almost certain that the actual team will be:

Schmeichel
Simpson Morgan Maguire Fuchs
Mahrez N'Didi James Albrighton
Okazaki
Vardy

My team would put up a decent fight before losing. Shakespeare's team will get a battering.

I cannot see anything but 4-4-2, with many old favourites in the starting 11 (barring Huth, obviously).

Gray for Albrighton and Nacho for Shinji from BN's lineup

Thrashing
