Yep, agree on a rest for Captain Wes.

I wouldn't leave him out for the rest of the season just for the sake of it though if he doesn't need it - there's still 6 games to go and if he doesn't play before the end of the season he won't have played a competitive game in almost 4 months by the the time the season starts. He doesn't need THAT long of a rest and I'd rather we try to end the season with some good momentum. Yes, rest him until he's fully recovered but don't leave him out after that just for the sake of it.

We need to replace both CBs in the summer and I'd only keep one of them at the club too, as a squad player

I thought Morgan looked considerably heavier than usual in the Madrid game. A month of minimal training appearing to do for him.

If that's any indicator, he'll be the size of Neville Southall a year after he retires from playing.
unless he was bulking up for the summer ????

I am more of the opinion that we need to add 2 CBs to the the 3 we have. They have performed well under CS just like last year. We have a 10+ NDidi first team that can play as well as last season.

Finding 24 year old equivalents of Huth and Morgan with their levels of experience and guile could be incredibly expensive, if they exist at all.

Spot on. Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater as they say.

you need 4 CB's I'd keep Benny and one of Huth/Morgan and sign 2 others, they are both going to be 32/33 we need to get some younger players in that role, don't let the last few week gloss over just how shite both Huth and Morgan were defensively for most of the season

Whoever we sign doesn't need to have the same experience, in fact they can't as they need to be a lot younger, they will get the experience by playing

The whole team were shite for most of the season, possible exception of Schmeichel. Do you think the forwards and midfielers were less shite than the defenders? Should we be looking for younger replacements for them as well?

I think its much easier to be able to defend than it is to attack, and they couldn't defend for shite, and we are still shite defensively at set pieces, so I want them replaced, if you can find a replacement for attacking players too go for it, even Vardy as much as he has picked up lately.

I have very little sentiment when it comes to this sort of thing, we should have been far more ruthless last summer IMO, everyone talks about Michael Keane and how we missed out but had we bought him then dropped Huth or Morgan this forum would have been full of people wetting themselves over dropping which ever it was

You don't build success by changing personnel every year. Manchester City are testimony to this.

no but you don't build it by never upgrading if you can either, I wasn't talking wholesale changes but the fact our first choice 11 now is only 1 different from last season is a testament to not recruiting properly, we didn't buy players for the first team we bought players for the squad (with the exception of Slimani), we need to be buying players for the first 11, starting at the back we need to upgrade the CBs, at the very least 1 of them

The centre back situation is an interesting one. Yes Huth and Morgan aren't the quickest, and yes both were poor until Ranieri's departure (as was the rest of the team), but they are back to putting in worldie performances at the moment. Back in January and February I was pro replacing them both, but my opinion has changed.

I would be shipping out Wasilewski, and splashing out on ONE younger defender in the mounded of Ben Gibson or Michael Keane (if either of them would come). That way we would be approaching the season with Huth, Morgan, Benny and A N Other. It would give us a good mix of experience and youthfulness, and would give us pace if we needed it against some particular opposition.

This year's champions changed personnel, we did too. Every team changes personnel. Maybe you think Morgan will perform next year like he did last year too.
