The odd thing is that he was playing as a defensive midfielder in his first season for Sevilla and scored 20! He was moved up the pitch after that and starting scoring fewer goals!

He would be a great foil for Henry upfront, hes got a lot of pace and power.

Baptista & Walcott are good aditions to Arsenal but id like to see Wenger play Walcott more with Henry being out for past two game's.

I thought Arsenal played well but Man U were awful and Murdoch's various companies had been doing the usual trick of over hyping the Premiership. None of the big four are close to hitting top gear, Man U managed a 1-0 over Spurs at home, their biggest scalp to date ad struggled at home to Celtic. A touch of the emporer's new clothes about Man U, and Chelsea for that matter, I think.

As for the Gooners (and I declare my leaning towards Arsenal as the 2nd team whose results I look for here), I think their defence could be frightening this season. I disagree with a previous poster, Eboue and Djouru are very good defenders who will get better. They both have electric pace and with Toure, Gallas, Clichy and Senderos Arsenal will have a great mix of experience, pace and strength in the back four. I've seen Arsenal a few times since I moved to Highbury and Clichy given a long run in the side can adequately replace Cole. The thing that lets them down at the moment is cover for Silva, if they have that they could challenge Chelsea who will only be caught by Liverpool this year I think.

Upfront they have Henry, Van Persie (again disagree with previous poster - he can be lethal, I saw him against Blackburn at Highbury last season and he was awesome), Walcott who I hope gets more run outs this season, Adebayor (who I reminds me of Kanu not because of the physical resemblance but in the way he doesn't look like a great finisher) and some much needed directness in the guise of Baptista. I think next season Arsenal could really challenge for the title again but its too early this season, Champions League could be a possibility though.

As for the foreign debate, I echo Boc's point about the quality that has been brought to the Premier League and am yet to see how it is damaging football at any level. Despite our poor perfomance at the World Cup England undeniably have a great group of talented players to choose from.

In certain ways, it could aid our players developement.
