Good work
The price of the existing shares is negotiated between Mandaric and this Mr. Power bloke. Could be a penny for the lot, could be £30 million each - there's no absolute value for them and you can't determine how much a 49% stake would cost.
And I can't see the ownership transfer working through putting additional money into the club. That doesn't help Mandaric since his goal is to get his money out. More likely is that the initial 49% is sold by Mandaric for a token amount - a quid or so - and the new owners pay off Mandaric's loans. Probably, like Gaydamak at Portsmouth, by replacing them with their own loans. And sometime later, the new owners pay Mandaric an agreed fee for the other 51%. Which could be anything, since it will be about transferring ownership in an offshore investment and not publicly visible.
Quite understandably, Milan is an old guy who wants to get his money back. All of us would if we were in his situation
If I were in his position I'd be inviting a coronary by snorting coke from a Latino whore's tits.
Five Asian businesses are behind a consortium bidding to buy Leicester City, it has emerged.
Thailand's King Power Group and four other major companies are in advanced takeover talks with owner Milan Mandaric.
An announcement is expected next week.
Mandaric confirmed retail giant King Power was one of those in the group, as revealed in the Leicester Mercury yesterday.
He has now said four other Asian businesses were part of the consortium. He would not name them.
A takeover of the club could provide the cash to support City's push into the Premier League.
"We are talking to a group of five different businesses," said Mandaric.
"There's King Power and there's others who are from other parts of Asia, but not Thailand.
"I hope these people are going to join one partnership group. There's lots of details and lots of conditional things to put together. We hope to announce something by the end of next week."
Mandaric, the club chairman, would not comment on reports the deal being negotiated would value the club at £39 million.
However, he did suggest the takeover would involve taking on the £26 million debt and the stadium.
Some reports suggest the consortium would initially buy 49 per cent of City, with a view to buying the rest at a later date. But the Mercury understands the potential investors are talking about buying a majority stake.
It is understood Serbian-American millionaire Mandaric would stay as chairman under the deal.
King Power, which specialises in duty free shopping, was yesterday unveiled as the club's new shirt sponsor.
The company is owned by Vichai Raksriaksorn, who has an estimated wealth of £113 million. Mandaric said the multi-million pound three-year sponsorship deal would still go ahead even if the takeover deal did not happen.
"It just shows that these people want to invest in the club," he said. "If things don't happen with any type of takeover they will still be our shirt sponsors."
Speaking about the shirt sponsorship, Raksriaksorn said: "We see this three-year deal as strategic and vital for our powerful global brand.
"Our interest in football is well established as sponsor to the Thai national football league and this sponsorship of Leicester City illustrates our ambitions and those of the club.
"This is an exciting and dynamic opportunity for us and I hope a relationship which can deliver much more for all sides, including the fans."
Not just King Power - there's five of 'em

For a club that was making no comment in an official announcement, Milan is shooting his mouth off at every opportunity :icon_lol:

... and still not telling us anything we didn't already know.

I didn't know it was 5 companies in the partnership. Where else has that been reported?
Thailand were involved in an incident of unsportsmanlike conduct in its group-stage match against Indonesia in the 1998 Tiger Cup. Both teams had already secured spots in the semifinals, with the winner of the match to face hosts Vietnam and the loser to face Singapore. Perceiving Singapore to be the weaker opponent, neither side put much effort into winning the game. The first half saw little action, with both teams barely attempting to score. During the second half both teams managed to score, partly thanks to halfhearted defending, resulting in a 2–2 tie after 90 minutes. In extra time, Indonesian defender Mursyid Effendi scored a deliberate own goal, giving Thailand a 3–2 victory. Both teams were fined for "violating the spirit of the game" and Mursyid Effendi was banned from football for life.
Is this what we can look forward to?
Only if the consortium consists of the 1998 Thai football team, which I can't see happening, if I'm honest.
With a kit like this Thailand's kit for 2009/10 we may end up with if Nike get the contract

That's like saying Leicester's footballing philosophy is having Steve Walsh punch someone in the face, which happened more times than the above incident did in Thailand. Is that how you'd characterize Leicester? It was the Thai football philosophy I was pointing out rather than that particular team
