That's a disgrace of a decision. No way should that have been disallowed.
It was explained on R5L. If the ball is trapped between one of the goalkeeper's hands and a surface, it is regarded as being in his possession.
 
Agree with most of this, but Thomas excellent? He's been good going forward but terrible defending, probably the weakest link in a crap defence.
I think he’s growing really well in recent weeks. Looks sharp to me.

Hard to judge anyone individually at the back. Something is foundationally very wrong.
 
Yes I'd agree, Thomas is a defensive weak link.
 
Albrighton Perez or Iheanacho on right don't care.just get the change made.
 
Much the better team in that half and look really good going forward, especially on the left.

Worrying at the back though that we just can't deal with a ball into the box, be it a corner, free kick or even a cross.

Really lucky with VAR too, I guess it is the rule but I'd be gutted if that was disallowed for us.

Hopefully we carry on in the second half looking good going forward but I can't see Villa playing as poor as that second half and fear that we really needed to have a lead to defend for the second half.
 
So just to recap on the new signings:

Vestergaard - dreadful and out of the side
Bertrand - same
Soumare - looks miles off it. At best jury out.
Lookman - has us collectively calling for Perez

Daka looks decent.

At this point a very poor summer.
 
I'd be fuming if we had that ruled out, but if that's the rule then there's no argument. He definitely got a hand on it and you can see even in the full speed replay that the ball did stop before Ramsey got onto it

I think Daka looks like a very good signing so far.

I still think Soumare will come good too.

Don't forget that Rodgers said from the off that Daka and Soumare were more signings for next year than this - I think Soumare has the right attributes to succeed, just needs time and patience to adapt to the PL.

As Meat Loaf put it 2 out of 5 ain’t bad.
 
The clapping bit is what i find most baffling. Just doesn't seem appropriate.
Clapping started when it was felt impossible for everybody to be quiet for a whole minute.
