The year we won the Premier League, we drew against Mansfield in pre season

No one gives a **** about the result. It's about the fact we look as if we have absolutely no plan A, B or C. It's also about the clear frustration being shown by some players and about the fact that a system serving us well has disintegrated into complete disorganisation.

Yes, it's pre-season, but given how many games there are left until our first match against Spurs, there should be at least glimpses of what our tactical plan or plans may be, even if we aren't winning games. Yesterday, we were woefully short of ideas and creativity, there was no balance to our play, there was no identifiable style. It was dreadful.

It's okay though, we'll get another winger in to solve the problem.

You're fixating on that game for some reason.

The real rub is that there were more than likely signs of development and things to be positive about in the Mansfield game, despite the result. There were none in this game. Zero. Zilch.

For a bloke who spent the whole of last season criticising a manager who won us the league because you didn't like his style, you seem very at ease with a manager who, at the moment, hasn't got any style at all.

To be honest I haven’t watched any of the pre season matches, because they’re usually non eventful matches designed to get players running. They tend to not be an indicator on the season at all, hence I have a complete lack of interest.

I’ll judge the lack of style you’re suggesting against Spurs. You know, in a competitive match.

Some people read more into things during the preseason and some read less into it. Sometimes, people read more (or less) into it than the previous season. That may be because they’ve changed their view of these things, or what they’re looking for and, sometimes, it’s because of a bit of cognitive dissonance. Who knows, but it’s interesting to see.
