Firstly, I trust you all had a happy Christmas and I'd like to wish you all the best for 2007.

Now, I'd like to get your opinions on something:

If the Milan Mandaric takeover collapses (which I sincerely hope will not be the case), do you expect a backlash from the fans?

It seems to me that the only thing that has been of hindrance to the takeover is the inadequacy of the LCFC board. As others have stated, the Liverpool takeover (which is of much larger magnitude to our situation) passed without a problem. The only reason I can see for ours being held up so frustratingly is that the board are a bunch of incompetent fat cats with only one common interest. Money.

I feel that the general consensus is that the fans all want Milan Mandaric in and so, if this doesn't come into fruition, will you, the loyal LCFC fans with only the best interests of the club at heart, embark on any sort of backlash shenanigans? If so, what will these be?

All I wanted for Christmas was Milan's chequebook.

Sorry to piss on your parade, but no actual bid has been submitted for Liverpool yet, let alone has one been accepted.

Just testing...:icon_redf

Anyway if the deal did fall through, i reckon the fans would loose all enthusiasm and interest, and we'd end up going to down League One

but we can still answer the question......

There will probably be a backlash no matter who is at fault, most of the crowd will join th bandwagon sooner or later

It's already a fecking joke how long it's taking. By the time MM comes in, the transfer window will have closed

Liverpool hasn't gone through - neither has Newcastle. Only West Ham has gone through so far and that started in the summer!

Because its all quiet the deal will probably go through. When it does I can't wait for the anti-Mandaric campaign to start from us lot ... I'll give him eight weeks before someone comes on here and accuses him of a) lacking ambition b) not handing over a big enough transfer kitty, c) of either sacking or not sacking RK, d) things were much better under the old board or e) a combination of some or all of the above!

Is it because we are all football fans (and I include myself in this) that we are all feckless, shallow and arrogant - knowing that our view is best?

As for a backlash - the current board haven't done anything wrong yet. Due Dilligence is carrying on - no offer has been made or received - so what can they actually do at this stage? Nothing. Shall we all just be patient and wait .... of sorry - I forgot we are all football fans. What we want is INSTANT GRATIFICATION (ie promotion).

Liverpool and Newcastle are only in the very early stage of 'very interested parties'.

West Ham's takeover talk lasted a year really, there were rumbles of a takeover bid last year from that Iranian at MSI.

bet their furniture is crap..

I'm not sure there will be much of a backlash, I'm not sure fans really expect so much these days.

Agreed I think most fans know we are shite and lack any ambition and have just accepted it.:102:

dont forget there were apparently other options available :icon_roll

Is it me or does that sound like the crappest, most transparent bluff ever?
