So Beckford is really a great player and its Pearsons fault. I see .

I doubt if anyone who has watched any sort of football thinks that Beckford is a great player. But as gregs indicates he is a far better striker than the likes of Vardy and Waghorn. Is this Pearson's fault that we are having to shift at all costs, for financial reasons, potentially useful players? - Not really. It has emerged very clearly over the summer that Pearson is working to instructions in getting down expenditure. The spend, spend, spend policy is a bust flush - and cutting back appears to be the only option for the club. But at the moment we are going into this season with a clearly understrength squad and it's going to take considerable marketing skill (unlikely) plus the naivety of sufficient punters (more likely) to sell the up coming season as an attractive proposition.

You can never tell in football - but I would have thought that there will be tears by the end of October.

I'm an incurable summertime optimist and don't share your grim vies of things here. The only significant loss from last season is Keane. And with last season added to their experience, I think that our young players can grow further this season.

(Probably proven wrong and in tears come the end of October though)
