I agree, if hes good enough hes good enough, if hes not hes not - why the need for all the messing about.

Because he might be better than some of the players we already have, but not as good as the players we're trying to sign.

Surely that's not difficult to understand is it?

Of course it's understandable that we would want the best players we can possibly get. Maybe we should do a better job of keeping quiet about our goings on until things are officially confirmed. I don't know how this whole agreeing a fee with Twente got out but it makes us look a bit silly if we don't sign him and as has been said it can't be good for the player if he comes in knowing he was 2nd or 3rd choice...

Whereas if we were a bit more secretive it would have just looked like he came, had a trial and was or wasn't good enough to earn a deal. It's just a bit more professional...?

On the other hand, I guess it's not much different from Curtis Davies preferring a move to a Premier League side and coming here if that all falls through....

Frustrated forward Bernard Parker is desperate for a move to Leicester after finding first-team action limited at FC Twente.

The South Africa international recently impressed while on trial with the Foxes, and the Championship club have agreed a fee with Twente for his services.

However, the deal is yet to go through, with manager Sven-Goran Eriksson still weighing up whether he has a spot in the team for the 24-year-old.

Parker has made only three appearances for the Eredivisie club this season, starting just once, and the attacker is hopeful the Leicester move will materialise.

"I am very keen on moving to Leicester and I mean they have high ambitions," Parker told Kickoff.com. "I know I can do well given a chance there."

He added: "I don't know what's happening now (with the deal), but I think it will go through.

"What I know is that the two teams have agreed a fee and we are now waiting for Twente to make the final decision but I haven't heard anything yet, but my manager (Mike Makaab) says we must wait on Leicester while we look at other possibilities."

Parker fears his international career will be put at risk if he keeps warming the bench at Twente.

He added: "I want to go for the sake of game time. I want to be ready when I come to play for the national team but that's not possible if you are not playing at club level.

"I don't want to lose my position in the national team.

"There are other strikers coming through like Davide Somma and so on, so for me to keep my place in the Bafana team I have to be playing at club level and I'm not playing at FC Twente, that's why I want to go.

"If I don't play I will lose my sharpness and one disappointing game and I don't get called up to the national team.

"I can't afford to miss out on playing for my country because I'm not playing for my club.

"But I'm positive and I know something will happen before the end of January."

Hi Guys,I am new here,but I should mention that I have been following this threads since it was mentioned that Parker was on trial with leicester.

I was happy that he is joining a championship team,since games are televised live in South Africa,it was going to be easy to see how our national player is doing.

But it look like Sven took too long to make his decision,Parker signed a six month loan deal with a Greek Club this morning.

Holland-based Bafana Bafana striker Bernard Parker is to move to Greek club Panserraikos.

This was announced on FC Twente's website today, no details were given although the move appears to be a loan until the end of the season.

Parker, who joined Twente at the start of the 2009/2010 season, has only played 17 League games for the Dutch champions.

He recently went for trials at Leicester City in England, but Leicester boss Sven-Goran Eriksson is apparently looking elsewhere with further reports today indicating that the former England national team coach is looking to add former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry to his team on a loan deal until the start of the MLS season.

Henry, who is contracted to MLS side New York Red Bulls, is currently training with Arsenal to maintain his fitness ahead of the new season in the States.

Eriksson has already managed to entice Nigerian striker Yakubu Aiyegbeni to the club on a loan deal until the end of the season from Everton.
