Roberto Carlos-living on the glory of one Free kick that went in...how about the other 15,000 that dissapeared into Row Z ?
John Barnes-remembered for one goal against Brazil, otherwise a lazy fat fecker with an annoying accent

Joe Johnson reached the final the following year, which suggests his win was no fluke.

He stayed in the top 16 elite for a few years, and then suffered health problems before disappearing down the rankings. He was a very good player that managed to break Steve Davis's monoply on snooker at that time.

He didn't, Dennis Taylor did it in '85

Thats correct. But if you have good knowledge of the game then why do you class him as an over achiever given that he won the world championship and reached the final the following year. I'd say he done rather well. Winning a world snooker title cannot be fluked, and imo Joe Johnson was up there with the best of them for a couple of years. He managed to do what Jimmy White failed to do in 6 different finals. Just because he wasn't flamboyant dosen't mean he wasn't still a very good player.
