Blackpool nestles high on England's Northwest coast and proudly proclaims to be Britian's premier seaside holiday resort.

I do not question the geographical location element of that statement. However, the fact is that Blackpool is a sh!thole, to say its requires regeneration would be belittling the task. A minimum requirement is a medium yield thermo-nuclear device centred on the central pier.

Am I wrong?

You're not wrong

It's the kaazi of England

My kids love it, though - but they're only young, bless 'em

do they enjoy making 'turdcastles' on the beach?

Blackpool's alright for a long weekend with the family.

What's your preferred English seaside resort then?

I'd sooner go without TBH.

If I had to choose I would say somewhere near (East Coast) and quiet - Chapel St Leonards or near the Animal Sanctuary just outside Mabelthorpe.

North Nofolk coast or Devon/Cornwall. Lots of other places really. I perhaps have to qualify my feelings on Blackpool. I am talking about the strip between the North Pier and the Pleasure Beach and the side roads around that area. Its tatty, dirty, run down, loads of places boarded up, and its teeming with low life. The classic sign I saw outside of a sweet shop decalred "We sell Fags & Baccy".

I stayed in areally nice hotel on the North Promenade and its quite nice up that end all the way to Cleveleys. Some of the suburbs are beautiful wide thouroghfares with nice, well kept houses. Blackpool also has a fantastic beach.

We should still level it and not bother replacing it.

woolacombe, croyd, holkham or brancaster

"you can't polish a turd!"

If Blackpool was regenerated, you'd still get the same ikes there.
Been once, no intention to rush back (that was 17 years ago).

ain't that sweet.
