You were caught being stupid so face up to it, don't bleat about it being unfair. Next time keep your arse on the seat and don't block the view of more respectable patrons.

I rarely post on here anymore but morons like you make my blood boil. 1, he said he was sitting on the back row. Now even 2 brain cell muppets like yourself could possibly work out that there will be no one except maybe the odd perched pigeon being obstructed by occasionally standing and cheering on his team.
2, does standing up really constitute to being hand cuffed like a hardend criminal and taken out of the ground. God help you if you think it does.
3, i would much rather be sat next to someone who showed a bit of passion for his/her club and stood up and cheerd their team on to victory than a "more respectable patron" like your good self anyday.

fook off and support f$*^st, we dont need"support" like yours

Is the back row of F1 at the top of the Kop.
We have only Homer to believe they were only standing up to sing hymns of praise.
You can mind your own business on how I support the team
And you sound like a very even tempered chap, blood boiling eh!
Mind your language too, and should you be emailing on your bosses time at work. Tara me duck.

F1 is a block as is L1 and G1....need i go on? so guess where the back row is ????.......
Eurika!  Tara me duck.

the stewards are just a bunch of idiots

i used to sit in L1, i can remember when that guy ran onto the pitch, right past me and down the aisle. the two or three stewards at the bottom didn't even move, they just watched him run onto the pitch!
i can also remember getting rollocked for standing in the aisle about 5 minutes before kick off.

Hi guys, I could do with some advice. First the situation:

During the West Ham United Home match on Saturday I along with my brother were ejected from the stadium at half time. While we were going down to the concourses the "Danger Team" grabbed us and using Arm locks and wrist locks escorted us outside the stadium and round to the detention center situated in the North Stand. Eventually we were told why, and their reason was that we were persistently standing throughout the match and ignored numerous verbal requests to sit down as well as hand gestures.

We sit on the back row of Block F1 in the Kop, we were standing now and again as were many, but mainly we were leaning against the back of our seat, which we were told was fine last season, so long as we were not standing directly.

Not once was I told to sit down, my brother did notice a hand gesture at one point and so leaned against the wall which seemed to satisfy the steward waving at him, as no further communication took place between us or any LCFC staff.

We were left outside the stadium stunned, we started to walk away and wait for friends in a local pub to watch the full time scores come through, as we looked back at the stadium almost every person sitting in the North Stand and Every supporter in the West Ham supporter’s area was standing.

We decided to send a complaint letter in to the Health and Safety Manager, Mr Kevin Barclay, as we clearly felt that we had both been very harshly dealt with. In the letter we accepted that safety was the most important aspect of the football stadium and that we were left feeling extremely humiliated by this incident not only because we were not fully aware of the reason why we were being escorted out but also furious that false allegations had been made by a Safety Steward to the club and the Police that we were verbally told on numerous occasions to remain seated.

This letter was also forwarded onto Customer relationship manager, Peter Jones, and Ian Bason at the Foxes Trust.

Today we received a letter from Mr Kevin Barclay, I will quote parts of the letter he sent to me, some of it is needless typing indicating where ground regulations are situated etc etc.

I write with reference to your ejection from the Walkers Stadium during the Coca Cola Championship fixture with West Ham United on Saturday 7th August 2004 for persistent standing within seated sections of the stadium. Your correspondence alleges that Safety Steward number *** failed to communicate the breach of Ground of Regulations to yourself and companion. Furthermore your also indicate in your letter that Safety staff would allow semi standing in seating sections of the South Stand and Visiting supporters were penalised for persistent standing.

In order to answer your communication I have taken time to interview members of the Safety Team, cctv operatives and Public. To which I may conclude that yourself and colleague persistently stood throughout the aforementioned fixture after being instructed verbally and also hand gestured to sit down by safety steward number ***.

He ended with this:

Leicester City Football Club will no tolerate breach of Ground regulations and we are therefore banning you from attending any Coca Cola Championship/Cup football matches until September 20th 2004.

Failure to comply with this directive will inevitably meet with further action.

I am not denying at any point that at times I was standing, I am not denying that during the whole first half I was leaning against my seat. But this letter is basically calling me and my brother a liar, I am not a liar! I have never been involved in trouble or have never been ejected before. I have several witnesses who sit around me who can confirm that I wasn’t told anything by any LCFC staff. I used to be a lifeguard and it is almost the same situation when a kid does a bomb dive or stands on floats in a pool, we give them 3 warnings, there may be regulations put around the pool to warn people of how to behave but you give the benefit of doubt and give them 3 warnings. We were not given one warning, nothing.

Considering the thousands we have pumped into this club, we both have a season ticket, both went to all home and away games last year, and to be treated this way by the club I love basically disgusts me.

I really do not know where to turn now, this is beyond ridiculous, beyond comprehension on my side. I would really appreciate any advice that people could give me, if there is any chance the foxes trust could get involved with this I would be so grateful, as they have not yet returned my letter.

Also if anybody else has similar situations I would also love to hear from you.

Thanks for reading, I know I blabbered slightly.

I completely simperthise.

The same thing happened to me last year i was standing in L1 amongst 50 other people and about ten stewards can up mob handed to eject me i tried to argue my case but they just said if i didn't come down with them they would send the rozzers up to nick me. At which point i though better of and said i would walk out as long as they didn't drag as i have too much pride than that. I knew one of stewards as i used to work with him and he assurred me this wouldn't happen. Any we got half down the stairs in L1 and 2 geeks then grab onto my arm pinching me really hard, i can take that but it just pissed me off and when i shock one of the pricks off another one joined in. These pinches left massive bruises on my arms. to say i wasn't happy is an understatement! i sent a three page email to kev barclay and had a phone call at 7:30 in the morning the next day basically saying they can eject anyone they want for any reason they want just as a nightclub bouncer can!!

It's shit and needs sorting but no matter how many witnesses you have they can still do want. The thing that pisses me off is how many of the health and safety/stewards are ex hooligans talk about double standards!!

during the half time of the arsenal match last year i was warned of my behaviour during the first half....as far as i can remember all i had done was hurled abuse at ashley cole, as i believe most of the block i was in was doing. i understand i do not exactly blend in with other fans and stand out like a sore thumb, but blatent targetting from the stewards is ever present.

the issue of standing is pathetic, our FA is so far behind. in germany they have standing and seating enclosures, both very popular and the kop end at borussia dortmund holds 25,000 so you can imagine the improvement in atmosphere this must create.....if you've been to old trafford (similar capacity, but no defined supporters area) you can only imagine it has to help

Greeting earthlings – here is my first post!

I’m pretty sure that if you ask for a copy of the CCTV footage with you in it they have to by law provide it to you – saw it on the Mark Thomas show once, he took a troop of Morris dancers into a MacDonald’s and then asked for the tape, which they gave him.

Just a thought.

p.s – you didn’t miss much!

I am about to call Kevin Barclay now in which i will ask to view the tape.
Thanks

Cheers for the support guys. I just called Peter Jones, he didnt know id received a letter from Kevin Barclay, i explained to him exactly my feelings and i explained to him what the letter said. He will speak to Kevin Barclay on Monday and we shall go from there but he told me not to give up as it will look like I am taking the punishment and so looks like I accept what is happening.

bazzer.....you obviously dont get it do you. its called passion, love fanatisism.. something that apparently you would rather not want any one to have. tell me , do you live in the real world where every day stress builds up to the point that all you want to do is to relieve it all and have a good time. thats what footy is all about. its about being spontanious, loud, passionate and in good spirits. i suppose you prefer to sit there like a bored geek and offer no support to the team.... are you frigid in bed too

Here's a link to the Freedom of Information Act website might be of use when 'socking it to da man":

You don't necessarily have a right to see the CCTV footage.

The Data Protection Act and Human Rights Act requirements mean that the tapes remain strictly confidential unless required as evidence either by the prosecution or defence or by the order of a court.

In that case copies of the tapes may be supplied to the police or a solicitor, or be produced in court.

So if you threaten to sue over the fact you have a season ticket and they won't let you in then you can force their hand on the CCTV footage, which will probably force them to back down!

The Data Protection Act does regulates CCTV surveillance carried out in many circumstances. It makes clear that "techniques used to capture, transmit, manipulate, record, store or communicate sound and image data relating to natural persons."

Assuming your a natural person :-)

Best thing is to call the Information Commissioner: 01625 545 740 who will probably be able to tell you your rights.

Can't agree there Tboy

The type of CCTV used by football clubs is such that it focuses on an individual for the purpose of recording personal details about that individual - in this case it was used to determine Homer637's fate. It therefore becomes personal data under the DPA and homer637 has a right to see it under the Subject Access rules.

The only get out they may have is if the tape were to be used for the prevention or detection of a crime AND where the release of it would prejudice that act - not so in this case as there is no suggestion of prosecution

If you want to see the tape, homer old boy, you have to make a written request to the club - and I reckon they have an obligation to let you see it

Wow law talk, straight over my head. Cheers i think i will, i will see what Kevin Barclay/Peter Jones says when they call me on Monday first.

Personally I am all for sitting and if there was lying down at matches, then I would be there. However if they are going to ban you make sure they have good reason for banning you (and I say this to all fans as the situation could arise where it is easier to live with many people standing than having to justify every banning case) and not just because someone said.

So if you admitted standing up throughout the game in a seated area, and your bro did see a steward gesturing for you to sit down, and the CCTV and others confirmed this, whats your gripe. Unnecessary rough treatment, being unfairly victimised, unreasonable banning from games,
or the actions of the stewards who are moronic neandertal and violent?.
As the forum is so emphatic that you are blameless, and that anyone who has the nerve to question your position will be verbally abused, perhaps you should set up a formal petition complaining about the current rules and stuff and present it to Tim Davies.

Bazzer this club doesn't need you. Would I be right in saying you either sit in the West stand of Family enclosure?

No wonder the atmophere at city is poor people like you ruin it. There is nothing wrong with standing IMO all fotball matches should be standing, it isn't a cinema you know.

I admitted standing at times, like everybody else in the stadium were, when they weren’t, I leaned on my seat which the season before we were told by a steward we could do. In the letter they told me we were verbally told persistently to sit down, I never even saw this hand gesture, it was my brother that saw it once while he was standing directly, when he leaned back this seemed to satisfy the steward involved. Each time the club claim that I was verbally told to sit down they are lying, and I use this strong word as I am so confident that not once was I told verbally to sit down, that steward lied about me to the club and to the police, which is a criminal offence.

Listen Bazzer, even Peter Jones was very sympathetic to our cause, I put it to you that you were either one of the stewards involved in this, which if so you are a coward for not admitting it, or that you just do not understand what the word “support” means. As for setting up a petition "and stuff", at no times am I complaining about the club rules and regulations, if they need to be in place, they need to be in place, what I am complaining about is they general attitude of the stewards, the way I was lied about and being ejected for something I didn’t realise I was doing wrong due to poor communication by the stewards involved.
