Did Porter replace Weso in the middle or did he play out wide?

He played wide left second half and in the middle for the remainder of the first.

dont forget that RK is going to try differant teams to find the best starting 11
lets what which team he puts out next ,hopefully by the sound of things we are going for a top 10 finish this season

Based on a 4-1 defeat of a League 2 side in a pre season friendly? :tumbleweed:

Starting lineup:

Henderson, Maybury, Sheehan, McCarthy, Hughes, Wesolowski, O'Grady, Tiatto, McAuley, Stearman, Hammond.
Subs: Douglas, Gerrbrand, Kisnorbo, Kenton, Hume, Williams, Johnson, Porter, Fryatt, Johansson, Low.

So to make a lineup out of that...

Henderson
Stearman, McCarthy, McAuley, Sheehan
Maybury, Hughes, Weso, Tiatto
O'Grady, Hammond

Exactly correct. When Weso came off, Tiatto moved inside, leaving space for Porter to play wide.

Second half lineup.

Douglas
Kenton, Gerrbrand, Kisnorbo, Johansson
Low, Williams, Johnson, Porter
Fryatt, Hume

Almost - you need to swap Gerrbrand and Kenton over. Kenton and Kisnorbo played in the middle with Gerrbrand at right-back.

From the OS:

"City took the lead on 14 minutes. Elvis Hammond broke down the left with pace, rounded 'keeper Andy Marriott and played an inch perfect pass to O'Grady who finished with ease from 10 yards."

If you were to say Andy Marriott play, you would know why Boston have been so keen to secure the services of Conrad Logan.

I wouldn't exactly say that Elvis rounded the keeper - it would be more truthful to say that Marriott made an even worse attempt at intercepting his run than Rab Douglas could ever imagine. For Marriott read 'misguided missile'! To be fair to Hammond, he did keep his cool and laid a beautiful ball which O'Grady stroked home.

The Foxes doubled their lead three minutes later - O'Grady capitalising on a mistake by Marriott to claim his second goal of the game.

2-0 Leicester, COG scores again!

I'm not sure where the mistake by Marriott was with this one. O'Grady played the ball in to Elvis inside the box. Elvis tried to turn but he was being impeded by a defender and the ball was stuck around his feet. O'Grady was sharp and immediately followed the line of his pass, nicked the ball away from the grasp of Elvis and his attendant and then quickly made room for himself to slot it past the advancing keeper.

Can yuo give your low-down on the new boys Boc, in the same way Duzza did? Was McAuley as bad as Duzza said, i had high hopes for him!!

Good point. I thought it mayne down to having 12 subs on the bench but we have 11.

It wasn't really a case of having 11 subs. Most of the second-half XI weren't even kitted up during the first half - there were only 3 or 4 of them on the bench and ready to come on if needed. It wasn't until about the 30 minute mark that the second-half buch appeared and started to warm up alongside the pitch.

Similarly at half-time, most of those who had played the first half went and got dressed, leaving only a few on the bench in case they were needed.

I'll get to it.

I've got to say, seeing the kit on the players does make it look better and makes me want one more :(

That's a matter of opinion. Close up it looks shite. The blue shoulder bits which go right up to form the collar are really puckered. The plastic panel on the front just looks like a plastic panel - I don't know why they just didn't stick on the letters with Sellotape.

I suppose if you stand far enough back, anything looks OK.

The shorts are a shocker too, look like skirts from a distance.

4 - 1 Jo Lo set up by Porter :038:
Wooooooo! We are on FIRE! :038: :038:

These two goals in the last few minutes of the game go to hide the fact that we had a very poor second half. There didn't seem to be nearly as much commitment and effort as there had been in the first half. I wonder if, in general, the second lot feel more sure of their places than the first lot did - I wonder if they deserve to feel more sure of their places!!

Third goal was, as already stated, an absolute screamer from around 30 yards. Unstoppable - just creeping... eeerrr... storming in at the angle of post and bar. HUUUUUUUUUUU - ME

For the fourth Fryatt, who had a poor game by his standards, seemed to have worked himself an opening for a shot but surprisingly and unselfishly laid it left for Levi Porter to fire in a certainty. Levi, however, had other ideas and even more unselfishly laid it right across the goal area for the completely unmarked Low to finally put it home. I think we were taking the piss slightly.

Calf-length in the case of one Levi Porter.

I think you are right Newton on the second half. I also thought that Boston's second half team looked better as well, they passed it around better and made some good openings, but they were poor in front of goal all night.

Wanna see Humey's goal!

Perhaps Duzza and I could do one of those Phoenix-from-the-Flames thingees. I'll be the keeper - on the grounds that he didn't have time to move!
