Breaking News - BLATTER GONE

I'm disappointed that this part of the saga has ended this way.

For me, the entire structure of FIFA stinks. It is institutionally corrupt and the removal of Blatter won't end this. No replacement is likely to be able to influence the motivations of those that get selected to represent their nation or those that benefit from said selections.

I was hoping that Blatter would embarrass the entire structure so much that a breakaway number of nations set up a new rival body. One that would have to be built on democracy or at least be so transparent as to shine a light on the murkiness of FIFA. Effectively a rip it up and start again organisation that would have to be the very antithesis of FIFA.

All we're going to get now is a Prince Ali or a Platini or similar presiding over a cleanse followed by renewed filth. It's clear from the majority of national representatives voting for Blatter that whoever he supports is a shoe in. Turkey's don't vote for Xmas etc. It wouldn't be a shock to see him offer his endorsement in return for an enhanced pension and agreement that certain truths will never be revealed.

I thought the same thing.

Amazing that despite the support of footballing giants (like Turkey, Lesotho, Burundi, St Vincent, Cyprus and France?) that he felt he could no longer carry on ( beyond December) in the best interests of FIFA

And Bla...Bla... Bla... Blatt's all folks!
dah-da-dah dah-dat-dat-dah ....

The look on the faces of Golden Balls, Dave Snooty and the Holte End Prince as their glad handing and ineffectual greasing of the grasping palms resulted in England's bid being given the bum's rush in the first round of the voting in December 2010, is something at least I can thank Blatter for.

Poor bloke, football a lesser sport without him.
