I know this isn't going to be popular and probably puts me in the boo boy catagory, (although I would like it noted that I have never ever booed the team) but I really don't think we are going to achieve anything with Levein as manager. His record is pathetic.

In this league our resources are quite good, as I have stated in another thread, we currently have roughly the 5th best budget, and I am not afraid to say that I am dissapointed. Two points above relegation at this stage is unacceptable, and to be honest I can't see it improving.

Before it is levvied at me that I am not a real fan, I would like to say that I am a real fan precisely for the reason that I will not stand back smiling and nodding while we sink into obscurity. This is the worst we have been in about 15 years and sad to say that after a year in charge the man at the helm must take some responsibility.(quote)

You are not being disloyal. The only, only loyalty comes from the fans. The managers come and go, we have had boards that have wrecked the club and the present board seems to have little substance, and the players....well we know all about their attitudes.

People who think it is all about showing loyalty to the manager pay their money and are entitled to their views. But this 'loyalty' is not necessarily a virtue.

The fact is that the performances on the pitch are miserable and the manager's excuses are boringly repetitive. It would take some real dire management and performances to see us go down, but certainly surely we do not have to settle for season 2006/06 being as awful as this. I don't think CL is right for Leicester City Football Club and should just be charged with keeping us up for the season...then the board should seek to find new blood at board and management level. I don't want to know about this side 'gelling'... why do we want such a mediocre bunch to gell anyway.

Its always tempting to have a go at everyone in these circumstances - but it seems to me that the standard of sports commentary generally on RL is at hospital radio level....it should be an embarrassment to the BBC.

It should be, but they are that smug that they are creaming in all that dosh on a licence fee they dont give a toss.... :)

To be honest I have now resigned myself to a season of absolute dross. Sorry if I have taken longer than most of you, but after that bucket of shite (i fooking paid and travelled a fooking long way for that you blue army twats) I am no longer holding out for much at all....

CL said he expected play-offs this season, which I remember thinking at the time was dubious as I would hope a manager of our club would aim higher, but now I realise he's aimed way too high already....

How awful....

Given the current problems at Hearts, and that those problems began while our esteemed manager was still in charge up there, I bet he was rubbing his hands with glee when we came knocking.

It isn't good enough, and the excuses won't wash with me anymore. I don't want to fall out with anyone, and I fully respect everyone on this site for their opinion and love of the club, that is why I am asking you to please accept my opinion as being equally as valid.

It may not be what you want to here, but the facts don't lie.:frown:

Oh dear...Suicide watch for Silver again I fear :icon_sad:

Didn't he just say that he expected better than last season?

Yes but he also said he fully expected us to be able to mount a play-off challenge, I think.... Webbo? Am I talking balls?

Nope, you are right, he said he fully expected to be pushing the playoff places late in the season.

At the moment we will be pushing for survival.

Silver you have no need to apologise, and neither should you be abused for offering your opinion. You support Leicester just like the rest of us, and you have an opinion and it is one that is valid and constructive.

We are in a difficult and precarious position, and at the moment the club can go one of two ways.

1) Stick by Levein - This is the manager who has come in and signed some decent young players and also moved out a lot of dead wood all in the space of 12 months. He is at the beginning of what set out to be a long term plan shouldnt he be given more time. Alex Ferguson is the prime example of a manager who was given the time and look what he achieved, Levein appears to be following a similar blueprint, and maybe he can deliver relative success to Leicester, maybe if he can deliver a decent striker in the forthcoming weeks he can turn it around, so shouldnt we be brave and stick by him. Who is to say that if Levein was sacked that he wouldnt go on to have success elsewhere and we then regret it as we languish away in league one like a certain club not too far up the road.

2) Sack Levein, he has had 12 months, this is now his team, we can ill afford a battle to survive a drop into the 3rd tier of English football for the first time in our history, his tactics are negative and stifle the talented players we do have, Do we want to allow him the opportunity to waste our clubs money on another poor striker, after all funds are tight. Maybe another manager can come in and galvanise this team like Dowie did 2 seasons ago at Palace and we claim our place back in the top flight on a hot bank holiday monday in may. The crowds are dwindling and we lose our parachute payment next season, the board must be seen to decisive action, we had seen the warnings with Peter Taylor, but the board failed to react until it was too late, but who is to say they will make the right appointment.

As you can see it is a massive and very difficult job for the board, I still believe Levein should be given longer, the amount of time depends on the reaction of the players and Levein in the upcoming games, although I am concerned, it is a precarious position and the board will have some very difficult decisions to make and ones they and we can ill afford to be wrong. But what we all have to understand is that now it has come to the time when fans are going to start feeling concerned and have doubts, at present we are in a position where a run of 3 or 4 results either way will really shape the 2nd half of the season, either mid table mediocrity or potential relegation candidates.

To be honest i don't think we played that badly at all. We just desperately lack the killer instinct at the moment.

If we can get a poacher in on loan I expect the results to start going our way.

It was a shame we lost but I cannot help thinking the result was unrepresentative of the match.

Yeah we need goals, if we can't score we can't win. Its something else that worries me more. There doent seem to be any spark at the club anymore. I know some call it passion, commitment, etc etc, maybe thats some of it. But this club used to have a definite spark about it, a bit of an edge, nobody fancied playing us, not because we were world beaters, but because they knew you don't f**k about with Leicester. It may have been indidual players like Lennon, Savage, Izzet, Claridge, etc, but more likely it was MON and his management team that gave us this cocky confidence. No I don;t subscribe to the bring MON back brigade, that's gone and it would never be the same, but we need that approach again, we need to get an edge be a bit awkward, difficult, aggessive even? We seem so laid back about everything, even losing! Should everyone at the club be absolutely livid by now? Desperate to put things right? I don't see it, I just don't see it. Forget luck, forget the rub of the green, just go out there and change it and you will earn more than your salary, you will earn the respect and admiration of us all.

It would help if Jon Barber occassionally removed his tongue from Dion Dublin's arse.

Serious question, how do you get RL in Scotland? Is it via the net?

Its through Leicester City World,Yes I have to pay £25 a season for the privelage of their incompetence.I occasionally choose to listen to the oppositions commentary instead.

Oooh ok. I was a payed up member of LC World for a few months, but I couldn't see any benefit. It was nice to watch the goals after the Stoke game, but since we haven't exactly been rattling them in lately it is cheaper to get up earlier (before 11am is early!) on Sunday to watch them!
