The Premier League Board have confirmed that Saturday’s Premier League fixture between Leicester City and Burnley has been postponed, following a meeting on Friday morning.

The decision came after Burnley confirmed that it had an insufficient number of First Team players available to fulfil the match, with the fixture now to be rearranged for a future date.

The Club regrets the inconvenience this may cause for its supporters.

All previously purchased tickets for the game to remain valid for the new date, which will be confirmed on LCFC.com in due course.

This season is turning into a complete farce.

The fact that we're plodding along doing nothing in mid-table doesn't improve my enjoyment of it...

It’s all getting rather silly now.

Is Tarkowski out of contract yet? We'll get there by hook or by crook, not having to play before we get another CB in.

On the plus side, I've got a match credit now and my wife will allow me to watch the women's game tomorrow without grumbling 'more bloody football'

Shambles.

If they are one player short then it shouldn't be allowed.

I would have thought this was good for us
Short term maybe but the backlog will kill us now, especially if we beat Randers and go far in the Conference League.

We might still be a bit short but even so, we'd have still been too good for Burnley tomorrow, especially after now they have lost the only player that scores goals for them.

The 2021/2 season will finish a week before the the 2022/3 season starts.

I can’t see how it helps their survival chances with fixture congestion.
With Cornet at Afcon and Wood sold, the rest of their squad has scored 6 PL goals between them all.

It's definitely in their interest to try and get someone in who can score a goal before they play another game.

I assume Adrian Durham will make Burnley his next target then, particularly having sold Wood just this week.

You can just see the fixture pile-up producing a run of games where all the players we get back end up injured again. Or different ones.

****ing shambolic.

Roll on summer.

If rumour of Andy Carroll is true, think they may need someone else as well

3 games in a row postponed... the fixture pile-up later in the season is going to be horrendous.

Seems okay on the face of it for now with players out injured and at AFCON, but we're just going to get more injuries again later with the amount of games we're going to face in a shorter space of time.

I was concerned that JJ was going to be rushed back in this one though, even via a sub appearance, so I'm glad we've got a little bit longer for him at least.
