Can't we be honest with each other after so long together?

It was utter pap.

Kaspar flapped as per, Bamba and Mills lunged, Peltier given the run-around, Konchesky hoofed. King and Abe were anonymous, Waghorn tried very hard but ain't got it. The rest were OK

You're kidding right?

What I saw of it - I noted the following.1. The new Danish Albino is going to give me heart problems this season dealing with crosses. 2. Very difficult opposition to play in a friendly - cynical, bordering on dirty.

What was the route?

Stockholm > Munich > 6hr bus ride to Villach. There was a problem in Munich with the freight that had all their kit was temporarily lost. In total they were travelling for 14 odd hours.

The players would have had less than 7 hours sleep from playing the previous night.

Had it been organised properly, they could have flown via Stansted direct in to Klagenfurt and saved approx 5 hours on travelling.

Horrendous, they should try a 15 hour journey in 90 degree heat in a chicken bus surrounded by the most annoying women in the world selling bits of pig in a bag.

You surely weren't expected to play a game of football less than 24 hours after completing that!

Hey, remember that 6-1 tonking Newcastle took at Leyton Orient in the pre-season a couple of years a go when they walked the Championship title?! Well, that was nothing! We just drew with a team in the Europa League who are further into their pre-season than us after 15 hours of travelling! Absolute shambles!

Nope, just a 8 hour return hike on one of the largest Volcanoes in Central America, a game of footy would have been lovely in comparison.

I am a bit mate, yep. Perhaps I've just got my hopes over-inflated with the monies flying around...

I understand we're not expected to 'click' immediately as a team, and that the fitness isn't there - and that they had a bad journey, but what I don't see is any individual brilliance, anything that should come naturally to these guys on mega-wages where you just have to say "wow!".

I know the 'team' is all important, but it doesn't take teamplay to put a free kick on target, or stick a decent corner in or, more importantly, to get on the end of the decent corner when it does come in etc etc

So, what you really meant, rather than that whole post slagging off the team, was: "Waghorn's set piece delivery in this game was extremely poor."

Erm... Maybe it's got something to do with having played the fourth pre-season game in ten days?
Could it actually be that the team is getting close to its fitness limits? Ever thought of that possibility?

I'd like to see you huffing and puffing with the same program these guys have had in the past two weeks.

Just saying'.

That wasn't our absolute strongest team but even with our strongest team I don't think we are good enough up top as of this moment. In the second half we did resort to a lot of long balls down the wings for the forwards to chase and it was happening a bit in the first too. There was also alot of moaning and fighting going on from us which was going a bit over the top. It's nice to hear al the communication that was going on between our players and it's nice to see the desire to win even in a friendly, but it was getting a bit out of hand.

Well, no. I just stopped short of listing a whole list of things that individuals do that don't necessarily require teamwork... and that included some Schmeichel wafts (he's going to give us some heart attacks this year), defenders diving in too early and full backs out of position.

I don't get this "flapping" criticism at goalkeepers, honestly. It was the same with Ricardo, but he never conceded one goal due to it. A lot of it is just the goalkeeper imposing himself on the opposition's attack. If he actually concedes a goal, then fine, the criticism is deserved, but otherwise, I don't see what the problem is.

Schmeichel had a good game today for me.

Are you seriously telling me that just because some of them have played let's say, conservatively, 5 hours of football in ten days, a bit of travelling and a bit of training - that they really shouldn't be expected to take a set-piece?

Perhaps you're right, but that would worry me.
