We had a problem last season, I will make my own judgement after the start of this season, but I think we will see one more new striker before the 1st game.

Steve Lovell, plays for Dundee and has scored 28 times in 71 appearances.
As they are being relegated he is up for sale, aberdeen have made an offer of £250k which has been turned down. £300.000 would probably seal the deal, which in not a lot to pay for a 20 goal a season player

It looks like he could be the answer

correct me if i'm wrong but sunderland won the league with a top goalscorer with 16 goals, if you get the defence sorted and win enough 1-0s you make it out the league. i think this seasons league is going to be much closer than last years so expecting us to get promoted is only going to result in an uncomfortable struggle throughout next season losing 1-0 one week then winning the next 2 1-0 and so on.

fitz exactly right, ipswich had a lot of goals but they also conceded a lot winning games 4-2 3-2 after going 2-0 down.

sunderland won games by been very hard to break down 1-0 2-0 2-1 those type of results.

Sunderland were the best team in the League by far IMO and we'd do well to follow their example. However although their Top Scorer did only get 16 they did score 76 compared to our 49.Our goalscoring at Home was particulary poor.

IMO we dont necessarily need a 20+ goal striker, we just need our strikers to get around 30 goals between them and for the rest of the team to chip in a bit more - 2 seasons ago we had dickov and deane bagging most of the goals but scowy got 10 himself, jordan got 4 or 5, muzzy got 4 or 5 and matty got about 6. so midfield and defence chipped in with about 30 goals id guess, season just gone i think they contributed about half that, cant recall anyone apart from dion bagging more than a couple each
