I just can't see a scenario in which he plays for Blackpool against us. Sensible heads (and probably some ruling of some kind) would surely prevail.

I think the rules I quoted in a previous post are misleading.

It looks as though it's possible for players over 24 to be on long term loans, which must be what DJ is on. This is different to the old Football League rules.
For example Heidar Helguson has been on loan at Watford for most of the season, even though he's well over 24.

I just hope we do have it in the contract terms that he can't play against us then cos the old boy who comes to our place and is coporate told me he had heard when we played up their place a couple of months ago, DJ didn't play not because we had it written into his loan contract, but because it was a gentlemans agreement not to play him.

If it were me, I would think 'feck the agreement' when it came to a winner takes all game at Wembley. and I wouldn't blame them!


So I'm hoping that rumour isn't true!

To play him opens up a massive ethical question should it arise. I would fully expect the football league to intervene in such an instance.
