That really was a very special event indeed. Special mention to Cardiff City FC who played impeccable hosts, even providing free snacks. Vichai’s family will have heard some of our chanting from Bangkok. How we won that is quite a mystery, but that said possibly points to the inner core and strength built by Vichai at this club.

Special mention too to Mr Puel. Conducted himself brilliantly through this very hard time. Deserved all our support today. And for a while yet.

No he shouldn’t because he had no alternative. Gray committed a bookable offence.
The rules of the game are often changing. The spirit of the game should not.

No Cardiff footballer, coach or fan would have been the least bit upset had Gray not been booked. No performance assessor would have been angered by a degree of sensitivity shown by the referee. It was crass, officious and totally unnecessary.

He seemed to refereee the game without any comprehension that the circumstances were unusual in any way

He was awful

The game itself was a bit scrappy but we did just about enough to beat what will surely be a Championship team next season. We didn’t play well, but it was understandable and quite frankly irrelevant. Today was about paying tribute to Vichai. The football was just a side show.

Cardiff were great hosts and the free snacks were a really nice touch. Our fans were superb apart from a few neanderthal ****s who rather than appreciating our perfect hosts, decided to abuse the home fans and also sing the national anthem.

A great day really. In 30 years time I’m sure I’ll remember today without having a clue who won.
