As stringer put it on the radio, the anthem thing was standard football banter and was in fact a good thing as people were acting like they would normally during the game

I was very pissed off at the ref during the game for booking Gray.

Post game, and having seen multiple images of his reactions at different sequences of the celebration, I take it back.

He was clearly remorse to do so, but at the end of the day he did his job.

As Claude Puel so accurately put it... We did our best to play the game professionally, so it was only right the ref did the same.

It's the letter of the law and while you hope there would be compassion, you can't blame him.

Nothing about the buildup or aftermath of the game was at all usual. But from the kick-off to the final whistle the players and staff from both clubs, and the officials had to, and did play it as a normal football match. I’m not trying to be controversial or insensitive. That is how I saw the game.

I forgot to say, special mention to Jonny Evans who I thought had a decent game. I have been a big critic of him as he has been absolutely gash since he joined, but I thought he did well.

Like I said, the laws of the game are changeable, the spirit of the game shouldn't be.

Perhaps if he had been consistent in applying the laws of the game throughout the 90 minutes it might have been a little more understandable. The man acted like a bufoon.

Motd said Junior Hoilett played for us when Vichai first took over.

He didn't did he?

I was just about to post the same. I thought he was excellent.

Yup. It's fine for refs to pick and choose what they claim to see so why not for this instance. He just wanted to be talked about....perhaps we should stop.

Everyone involved yesterday deserves massive credit. That is all way way from the radio guys (in particular Ian Stringer who has been magnificent), both clubs and of course both sets of supporters.
Does anyone know what happened to Maguire? Knee, groin etc? Puel says he needs a scan. Unfortunately travelling to Thailand is going to hinder his injury massively but that can’t be helped. He won’t want to miss going and nor should he but I suspect the trip will set him back quite a bit physically.

Loved the way Jonny Evans pushes Demarai in to the corner where we all were after he scored.

He looked superb to be fair. A word about Ndidi though, what a player. Superb.

I know grief affects different people in different ways, and I have not had time to see/read everything, but I can't help noticing that Wes has been quiet, and that Kasper appears to have taken on the Captain's/Spokesperson role mostly this week.

I hope Wes is OK.

I think that Kasper just naturally expresses himself much better than Wes. Wes is a quiet leader, someone who leads by example, not with words.

In Geoff Peters post match interview with Gray, he specifically says how good Wes has been, especially on Monday .

Our fans were superb apart from a few neanderthal ****s who rather than appreciating our perfect hosts, decided to abuse the home fans and also sing the national anthem.
Agreed, it pissed me and my friends off more than somewhat. Hat's off to the Cardiff fans, they seemed to ignore it.

you mean apart from booing and singing about how England "****ed up" the world cup? it was harmless of both sides
Your opinion, fair enough. I don't agree 'tho, it wasn't an ordinary day. In any case I find the singing of the National Anthem completely brainless, when I last heard, Wales was still part of the UK.

Maybe we should call it the English Premier League, and then Cardiff and Swansea can feck off and join Celtic and Rangers in a glorified Gaelic league!
