Coronation Street battle ahead of Carling Cup tie

Accrington Stanley are at the centre of an off set Coronation Street battle as they prepare to entertain Leicester City in the First Round of the Carling Cup on Tuesday evening.

Accrington born Julie Hesmondhalgh who plays Hayley Cropper will of course be cheering for her home town team, however her on screen husband Roy Cropper is played by Leicester City fan David Neilsen.

The two stars of the soap are hoping to work around their filimg commitments and make it to the Fraser Eagle Stadium for the game, and hopefully it will be Julie who is smiling in the cafe on Wednesday morning!
