Likewise, I also share your viewpoint, but with just a little less enthusiasm.

Maybe that's a personailty trait I've got :icon_bigg

It just came as a shock to us that's all, it's not a trait you've ever let show before :icon_wink

tbh i barely noticed chambers! i think i remember him doing a good piece of play at one point but i couldnt tell who it was for certain in the pub!

The great thing about last nights game although we only drew was the young talent and raw energy on show. I was really chuffed to see the likes of Academy boys Weslowski, Sheehan, Mattock, King, Chambers and Stearman on the pitch. Laced with a bit of experience like Hulme, Kisnorbo, Fryatt etc we have what I believe is a squad other championship teams will begin to envy.

When you consider the likes of Max Gradel (on loan at Bournemouth and really doing well, they love him there), Levi Porter, Eric Odihambo, Ricky Sappleton, Billy Kee etc it goes to show that Jon Rudkin and Steve Beaglehole are having a massive and often unrecognised part to play in the progressive future of our club. The recruitment staff at the Academy level are second to none and there are even more talented kids on the way up from the young age groups. Coupled with the fact that we now have a manager who is able to galvanize this wide range of talented individuals and is not afraid to give the youngsters a go - the future really does look rosy despite the last 6 months of uncertainty and despair.

Did you see how animated Holloway was encouraging the supporters to get behind the team.........similar traits to MON..............Great to see.

The only way now is up........................

Spot on RN, had a very similar conversation last night on the academy players on show. It was certainly good to see some passion on the touchline, shame we didn't grab a winner, we certainly deserved it!

Its great to see these lads come though the ranks. But i don't think a team full of youngsters are going to get out of this division.
Fryatt and hume are both still young as well! not exactly experianced i think Fryatt is 21 and Hume is 24.
Its looks really good for the future having thses guys in the team. Surround them with a few more older heads and we could be going places.

For me chambers made a big difference, his control was so much better than Hume which meant we kept possession and the midfield had time to join the attack.

well said :038::038::038::038:

Thought Chambers had a great game, he really has the pace and ball control. Looking forward to see if he can get into the team.

We bought 14 players during summer only one was on view last night plus one loan signing. I don't know why MA2 was sacked, but this seems a better reason than most I've seen on here, assuming he had some input to thee signings.

Just watched the post match press conference and, whilst Ollie is obviously not going to lay the blame at anyone's feet, he says that no club should be bringing that number of players in over such a short period and that he is going to have a proper look at them all before even thinking of entering the transfer market.
I really like this chap. Megson grumbled from day one about the lack of skill here whilst Holloway is clearly building confidence amongst the squad. I know which has the better chance of success!

I think Chambers made some intelligent passes and generally looked quite decent. As for King, I'm a huge Weslowski fan but I think when King replaced him he made Weslowski look like he had a poor performance.

It wasn't King that did that - he had already done that perfectly well for himself by playing like a complete cnut

I thought it was an encouraging performance considering the youth of the team but there is one thing that bothers me a lot. The likes of Stearman, Wesolowski, Hume and Fryatt should all by rights have improved over the last two years or since they joined the club, but don't appear to have done. It seems we have a fine academy set-up but is the first team coaching all it should be?

The obvious answer is no, but I think there are a number of causes of this. We have had to throw a number of the younger players in at the deep end when they should have been eased into it gradually, i.e. first playing occassionally under more experienced team mates when the pressure is not on all of the time. The constant changes to the coacing staff will not have helped either.

I hope we don't make the same mistakes with the latest crop of youngsters, Mattock, Chambers, King, etc.

things improved after all 3 subs had been made which doesnt bode well for the players who were been picked ahead.
