5 teams in this division next season will be getting £16m parachute payments. that will be a lot more than we'll spend and i bet we'll still be known as big spending Leicester

Parachute payments are designed to cover expenses that a relegated club is already committed to at a Premier League rate. Any club that uses it to strengthen their squad is treading a very dangerous road.

The Old Fox still is going on about NP and harks back to dear old Sven. Can he just remind me which club has snapped up Sven's services to guide them to the top of shop?

Perhaps the same one that had Nigel Pearson at the top of its list of candidates, but was rebuffed?

Can we lay one thing to rest? I am not harking back to Sven: Sven is the past. I have stated openly that I do not believe NP is the man to get us to the Premier League. I have been castigated for this view, but everyone seems to think that betting upon our gaining promotion is foolish. That, to me. seems to be fence sitting in extremis - and we all know where the splinter is likely to go!

Your owners will be looking for a big name as soon as Malky fails to get you automatic promotion by October with his 100m, don't forget.
Bellamy is coming back. You heard it here first.
Is Malky in the Olympics now?

Considering the fact that nobody knows what our line up will be next season, seems that the bookies are reckoning that we will will splash cash again and are, as Boc says reducing their risk at this stage, no doubt we will move out in the betting when the prospective transfers are complete, both in and out.

That was my thinking.

Get yourselves down to Ladbrokes and fill your boots.Have they not heard about our rich list owners.

I haven't seen a single post that suggests this.

I think he's mainly upset that we'll still be called Leicester.

the point i was trying to make was, there are a number of sides this season who will have a bit of finacial clout at their disposal. if you add to that, the fact that over the last few seasons at least one of the promoted sides has at least made the playoffs this will be a tough division to get out of. i can't see why the bookies have made us favourites, do i think we will be promoted, of course we will.

Well said, sir! A man with the courage of his convictions. :038::038::038:

Yes, many teams could get promoted. But we're the favourites.

That's not as simple as we're the people who have had the most money placed on them; in the bookies' eyes we are, at present, the team most likely to mount a serious promotion challenge. Financial clout doesn't mean success, as we admirably proved last year. We're more settled than the unknowns that are the ex-PL teams, Birmingham have said that they still need to sell (and still have a transfer embargo), Leeds & Blackpool have weaker squads on paper and Cardiff are yet to have had any investment.

That's a lot of clapping.

I thought it was easier to make money by just betting on a draw for every game. Repeat until you have all the monies in the world.
I've ran the simulation thrice and on each occasion made a virtual fortune. Fact.

Optimistic. I reckon we'll land about 11th.

Get out of here. If you were real Leicester fans you'd know we're going to piss all over this league and finish top.

lol jk.

I'm going to reserve judgement until I see who Pearson brings in. Think he can get us into the playoffs again though.
