Just need me to win a lottery rollover at least and we will be sorted then.

IMO, it will never happen, for somebody to invest serious money in the club, they would have to have been very successful, for example David Wilson or Martin George.

Now why would anybody want to sink a proprtion of their personal wealth into a football club, to then allow the decision making to be undertaken by another group of individuals. Basically they would be sanctioning somebody else to spend their investment.

Also as with all successful people, you have to look at the ego factor, anybody who is successful has done so through being ruthless and their own entreprenual (sp) skills, I cannot see them standing back and being a shrinking violent.

Presumably you would prefer periodic fights for basic survival and the occasional 10 point deduction.

I can't see any connection between the points I made and your comments.

I'm afraid it's quite simple. I don't think that the present set up have enough financial resources to provide a basis for the reasonable level of success that most supporters want.

Of course, it was a great thing to save the club from potential extinction....but that doesn't preclude changes in the future - if and when possibilities arise.

The rules are no impediment to a sugar daddy coming in *if* he doesn;t want a stake in the running of the club. Sure, a sugar daddy can come along and say, "here's £10M, £20M" (or whatever) - but he can't get a stake of more than 5% of the club under the current rules.

Who is going to throw money in if they have no right to a say in how it is spent?
Agreed, but as the club have made clear, if someone were to wish to invest large sums in the club, and in effect take it over, that can be agreed by a 75% majority. OK, that is less than the 51% under PLC rules, but less than the 90% under PLC rules for a total takeover. I don't think the rules are an impediment to a genuine moneybags city fan taking over - I think the real problem is that there never has been one out there, and there never will. I think some people have got to stop dreaming and wise up to this fact.

I totally agree on your last point. The rules do seem to inhibit however any investment between £0.5M and a complete takeover.

Just been thinking again about what you wrote. The comparisons you have made on the 75%, 51%, 90% basis are total nonsense if you consider it. The last two figures relate to an amount of the company which might be owned by a single person. The 75% figure which relates to the LCFC rules would be owned by at least 15 people and all would have to be in agreement. You are not comparing like with like.

I am sure that you are correct that at the moment there is no fairy-godfather around - and whilst that is so, it is easy for there to be mutterings that *mumble* things would be *mumble* eeerrr... re-arranged *mumble* to facilitate a *horrified mumble* takeover. It will be interesting to see what happens if the need ever arises.

I take what you say, but most people who have been complaining about the present set up have been envisioning a takeover by a Leicester Abramovic character, so with the utmost respect ( ie not! ) my comparisons are not total nonsense. Also, i would have thought it easier to try to find five people to invest £500k each rather than one sucker to invest £2.5m. Yah boo sucks to you, sir!

I think you should bear in mind that insults will never win over sound reasoning. While you are not comparing like with like, your comparison can not be valid.

We remain agreed on your main point however.

You call that an insult! Wait 'till I'm really upset!

Abramovich yes, Romanov no.

I bet the Hearts fans are gutted by what Romanov has done to their club.

There they were happily poddling about in mid-table; ground slipping out of the club's hands and master-minded by the managerial genius that is Craig Levein.

Then along comes Romanov and things start to implode: Levein brings his massive talents to the Walkers and now they have had to contend with finishing second in the SPL; winning the SFA Cup and having to play all those extra games in the European Champions League.

I can see your point only too clearly.
